Christ in You is Greater Than the Darkness Around You
You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
1 John 4:4
Satan is at Work
Satan may be working in the world around you, but today’s promise is a reminder that the Holy Spirit in you is greater than the powers of darkness around you.
You may not see it or even notice it, but two kingdoms operate all around you. These two kingdoms influence the destiny of nations and the hearts of men. These two kingdoms are the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness. The Kingdom of God brings the redemption of men and women from sin and brings them into an intimate fellowship with God. The kingdom of darkness is focused on deception, death, and destruction.
The Bible calls Satan the “Prince of this World.” Since the fall in the garden of Eden, Satan has operated and ruled the nations of this world. False teaching and false prophets are all part of the kingdom of darkness. Deception is the rule of trade in the kingdom of Satan. Every day people are led astray by these false teachers.
You Have Victory
As a follower of Christ, you can stand strong against Satan’s deception by the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling within us.
When Jesus died on the cross and conquered the grave, he overcame the prince of this world and the kingdom of darkness. He promised the Holy Spirit to all those who would come to Him in faith.
The Holy Spirit in You is Greater
The Holy Spirit who dwells in you is greater than the spirit of this world. The kingdom of darkness can never stand against the power of Christ dwelling in you. You don’t have to fear the work of the Devil or his kingdom because the power of Christ in you has defeated them. Christ in you is greater than the kingdom of darkness and the spirit of this world.
Look at that promise again.
You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. – 1 John 4:4
Make these confessions.
- The Spirit of Christ dwells in me.
- The false teachers of the day will not fool me.
- I will not fall to Satan’s temptations.
- The Holy Spirit in me is greater than the kingdom of darkness around me.
In Jesus’ Name,

You can live in victory over Satan’s deceptions and temptations because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.
I want to take just a minute and remind you that fear is the enemy of faith. With all that’s going on in the world today, it’s easy to let fear take hold of your heart. News of war, high gas prices, and all the rest can take your focus off the Lord. Remember, problems in the world don’t nullify the promises of God. He is still your protector, provider, and Lord. Keep your focus on Him during these uncertain times. You will find new peace amid the storm.

My husband is dying and Satan is trying to tear me apart. But, I am not able to be destroyed, because Jesus is my GOOD SHEPHERD, and He is laying me down in green pastures and leading me beside still waters! In my Lord Jesus, I am more than a conqueror!
