Today’s Promise

Psalm 119:9,11

How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

The Psalmist said when you fill your heart with God’s word, it keeps you from sin.

God’s word guards your heart against temptation and wrong desires.

Few things affect your walk with God like putting God’s Word in our heart. Notice, he didn’t say put God’s Word in your mind.

There is a big difference between just knowing God’s Word and allowing God’s Word into your heart. Some of the meanest people I have know were Christians who knew a lot about the Bible. The problem was they had never allowed God’s Word to transform their heart. They may have known the facts, but they had never allowed it to become part of their life. Transformation happens when we allow God’s Word to move from our head to their heart.

Something amazing happens when you put God’s Word into your life. God’s Word keeps you from sin. The Word of God transforms your thinking and brings you life as you allow it rule in your heart.

We often think that sin breaks our fellowship with God. In reality, sin is the evidence of our not being close to God. We sin because we are not walking in fellowship and unity with Christ. When we walk away from God, sin is the result.

The best way to stay close to God and far from sin is to put God’s Word in your heart every day and allow it to bring life to your spirit.

God’s Word will keep you from sin.

Let’s review that promise one more time,

How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. – Psalm 119: 9, 11

Confess with Me

Because I want to stay close to God
and far from sin,
I will put God’s word into my heart every day.
God’s word will transforms my life
and guards my heart.
I will keep my life pure
by storing God’s Word in my heart.
I will stay close to God because His Word will keep me from sin.

In Jesus Name,

Amen

As the Psalmist says I will meditate in God’s word day and night.

Paul, agree. It’s all about putting God’s Word in our lives and letting His Word live out through our lives. Thanks for the word.
