Today’s Promise

The Devil Runs From Me

James 4:7

For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

Satan may come against you, but according to today’s promise, he will flee when you resist him. Here’s the promise.

Today, you will come face to face with a temptation or an attack of the Devil. Each day he brings custom made temptations and spiritual attacks your way.

The Bible describes Satan as a roaring lion who goes about seeking those he can devour. He wants to distract, discourage, and destroy you. Jesus said Satan desires to kill, steal, and destroy.

As a follower of Christ, you have guaranteed victory over Satan if you follow the three simple steps of this promise.

1. Submit to God – The beginning point of authority, protection, and power is submitting to God. Submission is laying everything at His feet as Lord and Master. It is giving Him control of every area of your life.

2. Resist the Devil – “Resist” is a military term and it’s the picture of a soldier standing his ground against an enemy. You will never find victory over the Devil or temptation if you don’t resist. If you don’t hold your ground, Satan will walk over you and destroy everything you are and everything you have. Resisting the Devil is a confession of your submission to God. When you resist the Devil, you are confessing who you are in Christ and drawing on the power of Christ in you. Resisting the Devil is living out the submission to Christ you have made.

3. Satan Will Flee – With God in your corner, Satan is not interested in a fight. He will back down and back away as he sees the power of God flowing through you. The roaring lion you might have been intimidated by a few minutes earlier will scat away, and his roar will sound like a meow.

So many Christians live in defeat to temptation and the attack of Satan. As you submit yourself to God and resist Satan’s attack, you will walk in victory over the enemy, empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Review this promise again.

Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. – James 4:7

Confess this today.

In Jesus name, I have victory over the Devil.
I submit myself to the will and leadership of Christ.
I stand against the attack of Satan in my life.
I claim the victory God has promised me over Satan.
I know Satan will flee as I resist him.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

You don’t have to walk in defeat to the attack of Satan. Submit to God and resist the Devil and he will flee from You.

Me and my family are in a valley season right now too, Melvin. Praying for your situation. Ask Him what you are to be learning during this. There is always a purpose above ours. We keep believing in Paul’s words, in our weakness, He displays His strenght! Keep fighting, and get ready to rise up! My daughter is battling cancer as well, Charlene. Facts say that you have cancer. Truth says that by His wounds you are healed! May your faith and trust levels increase. Blessings to all.
