Today’s Promise

I Am a Son of God

Galatians 3:26

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

Do you see God as your Father or your boss? Today’s promise gives you the answer.

The book of Galatians is all about what Jesus did to bring salvation. The focus is not on what we must do for God, but what Jesus did for us. Jesus death and resurrection finished everything needed to bring us salvation. All we need do is come to Him in faith.

So many Christians think salvation comes with a job description. Sure God saved you by grace, but there is a lot of work to be done to live up to that grace. They spend their life trying to please God by keeping a set of rules that either they create or someone created for them.

Christianity is Jesus plus nothing. In the Apostle Paul’s day, some taught you had to follow all the Jewish laws and Jesus. Today the church still suffers from a “Jesus plus” mentality.

When you put your faith in Jesus as Savior, God wrapped you up in Him. the Bible calls this being “in Christ.” His righteousness now covers you. His standing before God becomes your standing. You are clothed in the sonship of Jesus. Because you are in Christ, you are a son of God (this includes you, ladies). All the richest of Christ become yours.

You are clothed in the sonship of Jesus.

The word “child” here refers to grown children. God calls us to be men and women who are mature in our faith and walk with Christ. As a son of God, you can come boldly into God’s presence with your needs and prayers.

God isn’t your boss or employer, He is your father. When you came to Christ in faith, God became your father and you became His child. He invites you to call Him “Daddy.”  As Jesus said, you can call Him Abba Father or Daddy.

Let’s look at that verse once again.

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. – Galatians 3:26

Make This confession.

I am a Son of God.
God is my Father.
I am in Christ and covered by His blood.
His standing before God is my standing.
I can come boldly before Him in prayer.
He calls me son and I call him Father.

In Jesus Name.
Amen
