This Week’s Scriptures

Zephaniah 3:17 | Matthew 11:28-29 | Psalm 27:5 | Isaiah 54:17 | Matthew 5:14

It’s been a great week on the Daily Promise. I hope each day has been a blessing to you. Every Saturday we review the promises we learned during, so let’s get started.

On Monday we looked at the little book of Zephaniah and discovered that God is so proud of us, He sings over us.

The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing. – Zephaniah 3:17

On Tuesday we saw how Jesus provides rest to all who will follow after Him.

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. – Matthew 11:28-29

Wednesday began with an understanding that we are in a spiritual battle. Every day the forces of darkness attack with spiritual weapons and accusations. God promises that every weapon that comes against us will fail and every accusation will be silenced.

No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their vindication is from Me, declares the LORD. – Isaiah 54:17

On Thursday, we found that when the battle gets tough, or we just need a place of refuge, God will hide us in His presence. When the world around us is sinking sand, God has placed us on a solid rock.

For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock. – Psalm 27:5

We ended the week with the promise that Jesus has made us the light of the world. As He was the light of the world, He declares we are the light of the world. We don’t have to try and be the light, we are the light.

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. – Matthew 5:14

Take a moment and read these confessions out load. Declare the promises God has made to you.

I am a child of God and God loves me.
He holds me close and sings over me with joy.
I can rest in Him because He loves me so much.

In Jesus Christ I find rest.
He gives me rest from my past guilt, shame, and regret.
My significance is not found in who I am or what I do
My significance is found in the love of Christ.
Today, by faith, I claim my rest in Christ.

In the name of Jesus, every attack that comes against me will fail.
I claim the protection of my heavenly father.
I stand in faith today that no weapon formed against me will succeed.

When troubles come, I know God will protect me
He will hide me in His presence.
He will keep me from the enemy and provide for my every need.
When the world around me is sinking
God places me on His solid rock.

In Jesus Christ, I am the light of the world.
I am a city set on a hill
I bring the kingdom of God into every situation of life.
I walk in clarity, security, and guidance.
God’s light shines in and through me
As Jesus was a light to the world
I am a light to the world.

In Jesus Name,
Amen
