Today’s Promise

Jesus Directs My Path

Proverbs 3:6

In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Have you ever needed clarity?

Ever felt like you needed God’s help in making a big decision? Ever felt like you weren’t sure what your next step was to be? Today’s promise is about God leading us and directing our path.

We all need God’s direction in our life.

We face decisions where we don’t know what to do. We come to a fork in the road, and we aren’t sure if we should go right or left. That’s when most of us think about asking God for direction and leadership. However, God is not our personal GPS. We can’t just turn Him on for guidance, then turn Him off when we arrive safely.

He must not be the last resort when we are lost, but the first step when we begin our journey.

Most of God’s promises are conditional.

God has a requirement to be met before the promise can be secured. The condition for this promise of direction is our acknowledging God.

When we acknowledge God in all our ways, we are saying, “God today you are in control. All my goals, desires, and hopes are in your hands. Today, I set my life before you to use as You wish.”

Sometimes we are asking God for direction, but we’ve never asked if this is where He wants us to go? We ask directions before ask if we should go at all.

When we acknowledge Him, He promises to give direction and lead us down a straight path.

When God is leading, He gives you clarity and direction.

But God promises more than just knowing which way to go. He promises to make your path straight.

When you know where you are going, you take the quickest, most efficient way. When you are unsure of where you are going, you wind up making wrong turns and taking detours. The trip takes a lot longer and is a lot more work.

When you acknowledge God in all your ways, he clears the path for you, making it straight and smooth. He removes every obstacle and hazard. It’s the picture of someone cutting a clear and straight path through a dark and dangerous jungle.

Look at that promise again.

In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. – Proverbs 3:6

Confess this after me.

As I acknowledge the Lord in all my ways,
He is giving me direction and leadership
He is removing every obstacle
He is making my path straight and clear
He is directing me in every decision I make today.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

Remember, God always leads those who submit their lives to Him.

Under “Most of God’s promises are conditional.”

“We ask directions before ask if we should go before.” (?) Another way to say this might be, “Before we ask for directions, maybe we should ask if we should go at all.” Just a thought. I love your Daily Promise.
