Today’s Promise
God’s Favor Lasts a Lifetime
For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning.
Psalm 30:5
God’s Favor
As a follower of Christ, you live in the favor of God. God’s favor is His supernatural blessing and kindness toward you. The New Testament version of favor is “grace.”
God’s favor gives you the ability to be and do things you could never do on your own. His favor invites you to come boldly into His presence and fellowship with Him. Because of His favor, you know your prayers are heard and answered.
God pours out His favor on all His children. His favor provides for your every need. Every blessing of God is evidence of His favor. You can’t earn His favor; it is a gift from Him.
You Are Not Worthy
Many of us have a hard time accepting the favor of God. We feel unworthy of His blessings. The truth is, we are. No one is worthy of God’s grace. No matter how hard you may try, you will never be good enough for God’s favor. The wonderful news is that God’s favor is not dependent on your worthiness.

One of the most amazing aspects of God’s favor is found right in the middle of today’s verse. God’s favor lasts a lifetime.
God’s favor is not for a moment or an hour. God’s favor is forever. You will never run out of God’s favor. Every morning is a reminder that God’s favor is flowing over you.
Sure, there may be difficult times, but knowing that God’s favor lasts a lifetime is a reminder that God’s favor is still flowing over you even during the hard times.
Take a few moments and confess God’s favor on you. As His child, you walk in the favor and grace of God today. Even if you were to live over one hundred years old, God’s favor would still be new every morning, and His grace will still bring His blessing throughout your day.
Look at that promise again.
For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning. – Psalm 30:5
Make these confessions.
I live in the favor of God.
- God’s favor toward me is renewed every morning.
- I don’t deserve His favor, but He pours it out on me every day.
- I will never outlive God’s favor towards me.
- Every blessing is evidence of God’s favor in my life.

This devotion really ? blessed me thus morning
I love this affirmation! God revealed this to me in study about 12 years ago. It revolutionized my faith and my walk with the Lord received an upgrade. I remind myself of this almost daily. I immediately shared the revelation with my church and they make this declaration often. Most people just focus on the second part of this verse. They only quote the “weeping may endure for a night …” When I shared this revelation, no one had seemed to pay attention to the first (critical) part of this verse.
You are the only other person that I have heard teach it. You broke it down so wonderfully. Thank you for sharing this confirmation and affirmation with the believers! I love, love, love it!
