Today’s Promise

I Have Peace With God

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. – Romans 5:1

Peace

Peace. It’s a hard thing to come by these days. From political uncertainty to the rise of depression and anxiety, it seems the entire world is suffering from a lack of peace.

Peace Begins with God

Peace in the world and peace in our hearts begin with peace with God. The night the angels announced Jesus’ birth to a group of common shepherds  they declared, “Peace on earth, goodwill toward men.” The source of all peace is the Lord Jesus Himself.

It’s interesting that as we have removed God from our schools, universities, and country, suicide, depression, and anxiety have risen. According to the CDC, suicide is up 33% since 1999.

When you lack peace with God, you lack peace within yourself.

Sin Destroys Peace

The problem with peace is our sin. Sin puts us at odds with God. There is no peace with God as long as there is sin. I have never talked with a person who didn’t admit they were a sinner. We all know we have done things wrong. That’s why Jesus came and died on the cross. He paid the penalty for your sin. Without Christ, you have to deal with your own sin. You may try and excusing it or ignoring it, but no matter what you do, there is still that feeling of guilt and shame.

Peace in Every Area of Life

When you came to Christ, your sin was justified. A preacher friend used to say, “justified means just-as-if-I’d never sinned.” Through Christ, you now have peace with God. That peace flows into every area of your life. In John 14:27, Jesus promised His supernatural peace to those who followed Him. You have peace with your past because Jesus had forgiven your sin. You have peace with your failures because God doesn’t hold your sin against you.

You can face each day knowing that you have peace with God.

If you are struggling today, remember that you have peace with God through faith in Christ and the promise of peace in every area of your life.

Look at that promise again.

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. – Romans 5:1

Make these confessions.

  • Through faith in Christ, I have peace with God.
  • My sin has been paid through the blood of Jesus.
  • Since I have peace with God, I have peace with my past.
  • The peace of Christ flows into every area of my life.

In Jesus name,
Amen

Hey, I am standing with you. God has promised peace. Accept it, claim, and confess it. “I have God’s peace today.” Right now I am praying God’s peace be evident to you, in Jesus Name. – Billy
