Today’s Promise

I Hold Onto the Promises of God

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
Hebrews 10:23

When God Makes a Promise

Every promise of God is worth claiming. When God makes a promise, you can be confident He will fulfill it.

When God makes a promise, He keeps it. The basis of our faith is God’s faithfulness in fulfilling His promises.

God’s faithfulness is an expression of His character. Because we know He is faithful, we can claim the promises He has made.

A twenty-dollar bill is worth twenty dollars because it is backed by the full faith and credit of the United States government. A twenty-dollar bill is worth twenty dollars because the United States Government says it is.

Backed by God’s Character

God’s own character and holiness back every promise He has made. God can no more fail to fulfill a promise; than He can fail to be God. Every promise of the Bible is backed by the full faith and credit of the creator God.

As a believer, you can hold fast to His promise because you know God will fulfill it. God has never once failed to fulfill a promise made to His people.

The basis of your faith is that God will do what He has said He would do.

  • As you hold onto God’s promises, He strengthens and upholds you.
  • As you hold fast to the promises of God, you see God fulfilling each of the promises He has made in your life.
  • You know your sins have been forgiven, and you stand before God as His child.
  • You know that one day, Jesus will return for His people.
  • You know that you will see Jesus face to face and spend eternity with Him in Heaven when you die.
  • You know that one day, God will establish His kingdom here on earth forever.
  • You know that one day every knee will bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord.
  • How do you know these things? Because God has promised.

Look at that promise again.

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. – Hebrews 10:23

Make these confessions.

  • God will fulfill every promise He has made.
  • I hold fast to the hope I have in Jesus Christ.
  • My hope is not based on my strength but on His faithfulness.
  • I am confident that what God has said, He will do.

In Jesus name,
Amen

You can claim God’s promises because you know He is faithful to do what He has said He will to do.
