Today’s Promise

I Trust in the Lord

Jeremiah 17:7-8

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and whose trust is the Lord. “For he will be like a tree planted by the water, that extends its roots by a stream and will not fear when the heat comes; but its leaves will be green, and it will not be anxious in a year of drought nor cease to yield fruit.

We are all going through difficult times.

As you trust in the Lord, God will sustain you, and use you as an example of His goodness and care. When you trust in the Lord, amazing things begin to happen. When you trust in the Lord, you place your complete confidence in the Lord. It is more than intellectual assent, it is a total abandonment to God’s will and work in your life.

The prophet compares those who trust in the Lord with a tree planted by a stream of water.

First, the trusting Christian has an unending source of life-giving spiritual water. In the scriptures, water is a symbol of the Holy Spirit. The person who trusts in the Lord reaches out and grabs hold of all the Lord has for them. They allow the life-giving presence of the Holy Spirit to flow through them.

Second, the person who trusts in the Lord is not afraid in the heat of the moment. They knew the Lord would take care of them. While others are wilting in the summer sun, those who trust in the Lord draw refreshing water from their innermost beings.

Third, when the difficult days turn into difficult times, the person who trusts in the Lord never loses hope. They have confidence that God will provide. They know from experience that God can be trusted, so they don’t worry or fear because God is their strength.

Finally, the person who trusts in the Lord will bear fruit. Fruit is a symbol of health and productivity. A healthy growing tree produces fruit. The growing Christian who trusts in the Lord will produce the fruit of the spirit and will encourage everyone around them.

In this season, where fear and worry are running rampant, you can be a refreshing oasis to those around you. As you trust in the Lord, you will be a shining example of God’s power and goodness to the world.

During these days, trust in the Lord, He is worthy to be trusted.

Look at that promise again.

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and whose trust is the Lord. “For he will be like a tree planted by the water, that extends its roots by a stream and will not fear when the heat comes; but its leaves will be green, and it will not be anxious in a year of drought nor cease to yield fruit. – Jeremiah 17:7-8

Make these confessions.

  • I will trust in the Lord.
  • He will refresh and sustain me no matter what I’m going through.
  • I will stand firm when I face difficult days.
  • I am growing the fruit of the spirit in me as I trust in Him.

In Jesus Name.
Amen

Dear Larry! Please don’t be discouraged. I join you today in praying for your healing. God will use you in the midst of your pain and suffering, even when you don’t feel like you are able to be used. My husband and I will be in prayer together with you for the Words of the verse Billy gave us today to be evident in your life. May you be as a strong tree knowing you’re being refreshed by the Spirit of God every second. May you see the evidence of the Lord’s fruitful gifts in your life. And may you live each day with God’s perfect love shining through your life which drives out all fear. In the precious Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!

I trust in the Lord for my life and my childrens lives. I am a single parent and my husband left us for another woman. I thought i cannot go on with my life without my husband but God is so good to me. HE never leave me, He always provides and He continue to bless my children. I get all my strength from the Lord, i can never live without Him. I Am so thankful to you oh my God! And i will praise your name forever. Thank you Jesus!
