Today’s Promise

I Will Not Fear

Isaiah 41:10

Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand.

Do You Live in Fear?

What are you afraid of? I’m not talking about the fear of bugs, snakes, or things that go bump in the night. I’m talking about the fear that keeps you awake at night and greets you when the morning comes. That debilitating fear. The fear that keeps you frozen in your tracks. The fear that keeps you from enjoying all God has for you. Psychologists tell us we are born with only two fears: the fear of falling and loud noises. Every other fear is a learned fear. Unfortunately, we seem to be pretty good learners.

In this verse, God commands us not to live in fear. Fear is confessing that God is not in control. It is confessing that God is not watching over you. This command/promise gives us five reasons why we shouldn’t live in fear.

First, You don’t have to be afraid because God is with you. How can you walk in fear knowing that the God of the universe is with you?

Second, He is your God. The creator God is your God. You know Him, and He knows you. You are in a relationship with the living God.

Third, He is strengthening you. God’s power is flowing through you today. How can you ever fear failing when God is strengthening you.

Fourth, He is helping you. It seems like an unfair advantage, but as a child of God, God is helping you in every area of life.

Finally, He is upholding you. Picture a father holding His little daughter’s hand. Any fear the little girl has is swept away as her father takes her hand. God’s righteous right hand is upholding you in the same way.

What are you afraid of today? When you are afraid, remember, God is with you. He’s strengthening and helping you. He is holding your hand to keep you safe.

Let’s look at that promise one more time.

Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand. – Isaiah 41:10

Confess this with me.

  • I will not fear because God is with me.
  • I will not fear because the creator God is my God.
  • I will not live in fear because God is strengthening me
  • I will not live in fear because God is helping me.
  • I will not live in fear today because God is holding my hand and lifting me up.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

I am in constant fear. I fear the future. I fear the consequences of my mistakes. I fear I cannot go on with my life. As I read today’s promise, I can’t help but ask, is God speaking to me today even if I have sinned against Him? Am I included in His promises? I truly want to be not afraid. I truly want to feel and experience His promise.

Good morning Jen, I was moved to share this with you this morning. Your words brought me back to a time in my life where I felt just like you do today. I think the Lord was so wise with how He offered us not only salvation but also forgiveness of our sins and even the guilt of our shame. And He based it all on a decision we make to accept His Son Jesus instead of a feeling. I found that once I made that decision to allow Him to work in my life, the feeling eventually caught up with my decision. Keep pressing in. If you have made the decision to accept Christ already, I believe He will help you with what your struggling with. Many blessings!!!

Hey Jen. Sometimes the hardest person to forgive is ourselves. If you have placed your faith in Christ as Savior, then all these promises are yours. Your past has been forgiven and forgotten by your Heavenly Father. His love for your goest beyond your mistakes. God is with you right now. He will be with you no matter what you go through. Fear and faith are opposing forces. The more fear, the less faith. The more faith, the less fear. Put your focus on the Lord. That’s how you can build your faith. As you build your faith, your fear will subside. – Billy

    Good morning Jen
Here are some verses to consider.
    Exodus 11:7
    Psalm 103:8
    1John 1:9
    Romans 8:1
The Lord has put a difference between us and the world. He is merciful and kind. When we confess our sins, which we all have, He will forgive. There is no more condemnation. Jesus said my words are spirit, and life. Pour over the scripture and let his life touch you. He is soooo good.

May God richly bless you in Jesus Name!
