Today’s Promise

Keep Asking, Keep Seeking, Keep Knocking

Luke 11:9-10

So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened.

Do you give up in prayer to soon?

This promise is one of those Bible verses we know, but rarely practice. It’s a great verse to frame and put on the wall, but a better verse to live by.

Prayer is not a one-time act.

It’s not just saying a prayer, and then moving on with life. Jesus tells us to ask, and then keep on asking; to seek and keep on seeking; to knock and keep on knocking.

When you keep on asking, seeking, and knocking, you have the promise that God hears and answers your prayer.

If you have prayed about an issue and don’t have an answer, then keep on praying. A pastor friend used to say that when it comes to prayer, we should “PUSH – Pray, Until, Something, Happens.

We give up too soon in prayer. We bring our request to the Lord once and expect the heavens to open, and angels descend with our answer. Jesus promises to reward those who refuse to stop until the answer comes, or the door is opened.

God is not reluctant to answer your prayer.

He is not waiting for you to convince Him to answer your prayer. As a loving Father, He wants to bring good things into your life and to meet your every need.

Sometimes spiritual warfare must take place, and God’s timing has to be fulfilled. Daniel had to wait 21 days for his prayer to be answered. A heavenly battle had to be fought and won for the answer to come.

No matter what you are praying about today, keep on asking, seeking, and knocking. God’s answer is on the way.

Look at that promise again.

So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened.  – Luke 11:9-10

Make this confession.

  • I know that God is answering my prayer.
  • When I ask, seek, and knock, I receive, find, and doors are opened.
  • I will not give up in prayer but will continue to ask, seek, and knock.
  • I will pray until something happens.

In Jesus Name,
Amen
