Saturday Review

Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise. Every Saturday, we review the promises we learned during the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts.

Monday – God Always Keeps His Promises

On Monday, our confidence grew as we saw that God always keeps His promise. One definition of faith is believing that what God has said, He will do.

The God you serve is the God who makes good on His promises.

Here’s the promise.

Blessed be the Lord who has given rest to his people Israel, according to all that he promised. Not one word has failed of all his good promise, which he spoke by Moses his servant. – 1 Kings 8:56

Make these confessions.
  • Every promise of God will come true.
  • Even when I don’t understand, God is working to fulfill His word.
  • I trust God that what He has said, He will do.
  • I claim God’s promise to me today.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

Remember, the God you serve is the promise-keeping God. He will always fulfill His word.

Tuesday – God Gives Me Wisdom

On Tuesday, we claimed the promise that God gives wisdom to all who will ask. We have plenty of information but not much wisdom. Wisdom shows us how to live and make wise choices.

We need God’s wisdom to help us use the skills and knowledge we have. Wisdom empowers our knowledge, so we are more effective and productive.

Here’s the promise.

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. – James 1:5

Make these confessions.
  • I have wisdom that comes only from God.
  • When I ask, He gives me wisdom freely and generously.
  • When I need direction or clarity, I ask God for wisdom.
  • When I ask for wisdom, God always gives it to me.
  • God’s wisdom helps me make wise choices that bring about success in my life.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

God promises wisdom to everyone who asks. He gives wisdom freely and generously. You can ask God for wisdom today.

Wednesday – God is on My Side

Midway through the week, we saw that God is on our side. Imagine the God of the universe standing beside us as we face any and every problem. How can we possibly be afraid when the Lord Jesus is standing beside us?

Here’s the Promise.

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? – Romans 8:31

Make these confessions
  • God is for me.
  • I will not fear because I know God is walking with me.
  • Today, I stand with confidence, knowing God is on my side.
  • I am tearing down walls, defeating giants, and living in freedom because God is with me.

In Jesus name,
Amen

We can face our greatest challenges and fears because God is on our side.

Thursday – I Have the Holy Spirit

On Thursday, we were reminded that we have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us. Jesus said that having the Holy Spirit was better than Him being with us.

As Christians, we have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us. The Holy Spirit takes up residence in us and is teaching, leading, and empowering us.

Here’s the promise.

But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. – John 16:7

Make these confessions.
  • I have the Holy Spirit dwelling in me.
  • He is teaching me and providing all I need.
  • I have an intimate relationship with God through the Holy Spirit.
  • The Holy Spirit is empowering me to be all God has called me to be.

In Jesus name,
Amen

Just as Jesus promised, the Holy Spirit is filling, guiding, and empowering those who make Him their Lord and Savior. Because He indwells you, Jesus is closer than when He physically walked among us.

Friday – God Removes My Bitterness

We ended the week with the command to not let bitterness take root in our hearts. As with every command, God has already empowered us to accomplish it.

We remove bitterness through forgiveness. For most of us, that is easier said than done. Only through the grace of God can we truly forgive others and ourselves.

Here’s the promise.

See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled. – Hebrews 12:15

Make these confessions.
  • With God’s grace – I will not allow bitterness to take hold of me.
  • With God’s grace – I forgive others the way Christ forgives me.
  • With God’s grace – I forgive my mistakes of the past.
  • With God’s grace – I’m pulling up every root of bitterness growing in my heart.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

Because of God’s grace in our lives, we can release forgiveness to those who have offended us. We have the power to walk free from all bitterness through the power of Christ in us.

That’s it for this week. I hope these promises have been a blessing to you. Go back through these promises and allow God to renew your mind with these truths from His Word.

Share one of these promises with a friend or family member. Everyone can use an encouraging word from God’s Word.
