Today’s Promise

Through His Blood, I Am Forgiven

Matthew 26:27-28

And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you; for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins.

Forgiveness of Sin

The night before His crucifixion, Jesus gathered the disciples together to observe the Passover meal. During the meal, Jesus raised a cup and stated that His blood would bring forgiveness of sin and would bridge the gap between God and man.

Each of us carries a sin debt against God. The Bible says we have all sinned. (Romans 3:23) That sin debt separates us from God and condemns us to an eternity away from His presence. When Jesus died on the cross, He paid the price for your sin and canceled your sin debt.

The Gospel

The good news of the Gospel is that our sin debt has been forgiven. Imagine discovering a way for a person’s debts to be forgiven. What if you learned a way for every credit card, car, or student loan to be erased? That would be incredible news and you would share it with everyone you know.

The wonderful message of the cross is that a person’s sin, guilt, and shame can be removed.

Guilt and Shame are Gone

Because Jesus died on the cross and paid for your sin, the shame and guilt of your past have been erased. His blood broke down the barrier between you and God. You no longer have to carry the weight and regret of your sin. God placed your sin on Jesus, and He paid for your sin. Because your sin has been forgiven, you have a new and unhindered relationship with God.

Through faith in Christ, you now live free from the debt of your sin.

Look at the promise again.

And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you; for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins. – Matthew 26:27-28

Make these confessions.

  • The blood of Jesus has canceled my sin debt.
  • The guilt, shame, and regret of my past have been removed by the blood of Jesus.
  • When Jesus died on the cross, my sin was forgiven.
  • There is no barrier between God and me.
  • The barrier that separated me from God has been removed by the blood of Jesus.

In Jesus name,
Amen

What an important day in the life of our country. As never before, we need to pray for the election, the results, and the response to the election results. Join me in praying for God’s will to be done in this election. Pray that God’s peace will be released across the country, and pray God uses this time to draw people to Himself.

If you are praying for the election, give me an “I’m Praying” in the comments below.

Today is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it!

In you, Lord my God, I put my trust.

The Lord is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.

God inhabits the praises of his people. Praise his MIGHTY name and let the Glory come down!

Let’s listen to worship music today instead of watching the election. We can join God’s army angels by lifting our voices to praise our Almighty King!
