Today’s Promise

You are Planted by Streams of Living Water

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers.
Psalm 1:2-3

Focus on Word of God

If you want to be a fruitful, stable Christian, you must center your life around the Word of God.

When you make the Word of God a priority in your life, God brings stability, fruitfulness, and success into your life. You become like a tree planted by a stream of life-giving water.

Streams of Water

In the Bible, water symbolizes two things. First, it is a picture of the Holy Spirit, who, like water, refreshes, restores, and empowers your life.

Second, water is a symbol of cleansing. The Word of God cleanses your heart.

The word “streams” is a symbol of overflowing abundance. It’s the picture of a flowing river that is crystal clear, pure, and never dries up.

You can’t help but think of that day in John 7 when Jesus stood and offered living water to all who would believe in Him, or when Jesus offered living water to the woman at the well.

The streams of living water provide abundant spiritual nourishment and cleansing. You will never tap dry the power of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God in your life.

No Worries

When you have an unending stream of water, you never worry about a drought. As your roots dig deep into the Word of God, you flourish and grow when those around you are fainting.

The only way a tree can grow in the desert is for water to be nearby. Therefore, as people traveled through the hot wilderness, they looked for trees. When they saw a tree, they knew life-giving water would be nearby.

As you center your life around the Word of God, you will become a refreshing and encouraging place of refuge for those around you. He will plant by the edge of living water so you can show the world the goodness of God. You will point the way to the source of all they need. Jesus!

Let’s look at that verse once again,

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers. – Psalm 1:2-3

Make these confessions.

  • God has planted me firmly by streams of water.
  • His spirit is refreshing and empowering me.
  • His Word is cleansing me.
  • In times of stress and drought, I have refreshing living water.
  • I overflow with living water to the world around me.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

Today, as you plant your life in the Word of God, the Holy Spirit will fill you with His refreshing living water.
