Today’s Promise

You Can Throw Your Cares on Me

Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
1 Peter 5:7

We All Carry Worry and Fear

Are you anxious today? If so, I have great news for you.

We all have worries, cares, and concerns. Sometimes life is hard. Every day, you have a choice. You can walk around worried and anxious, or you can give your cares to the Lord.

God loves you so much that He invites you to place all your cares and concerns on Him.

Come to Me

In Matthew 11:28, Jesus stood before the people and said, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavily laden, and I will give you rest.” He invited those who were tired of carrying their burdens to come and throw them on Him.

How do you place all your cares on Christ? The secret is found in humbling yourself. God loves the humble and stands against the proud. The verse right before this promise says that if we humble ourselves, God can exalt us.

The Humble

The humble person turns everything over to the Lord. The word “cast” here means to throw onto something or someone. It’s the picture of a person taking all their worries, cares, burdens, and fears and throwing them onto the shoulders of Jesus.

The Proud

The proud person carries their problems and fears. They think they can handle things by themselves. They only come to God when they feel completely overwhelmed. The humble bring everything to the Lord as a confession of their trust in Him.

You can confidently throw your cares on Christ because He cares for you. You matter to Him. He is ready and willing to take on your anxious concerns.

When you place your cares on Christ, you find new courage to face your day. You receive wisdom and guidance on how to deal with the problem. God gives you new strength and faith to face your fears with complete dependence on God.

How many cares, worries, and burdens are you carrying today? Why not throw them on Christ? Let Jesus carry them. He cares for you.

Look at that promise again.

Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. – 1 Peter 5:7

Make these confessions.

  • Today I throw all my cares on Christ.
  • I humble myself and place my trust in Him.
  • I put my fears, worries, and concerns on Jesus.
  • I know He will carry my burdens because He loves me.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

When you throw all your anxieties on the Lord, you will find new strength, confidence, and faith as you trust the Lord’s goodness to bring you through.

Last week, I asked you to pray for me as I work on a book to help church members pray for their pastors. I really appreciate everyone who interceded for me. Today, I want you to continue praying for me and this ministry. There is so much to be done, and I need the Father’s wisdom as never before. Pray for God to bless and expand this ministry as I seek His face. Thank you in advance for your prayer support.

How are you throwing your cares on Jesus today? (Share your thoughts in the comments below.)
