Today’s Promise

September 16, 2022

You Have Everything You Need for Godly Living

Seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.
2 Peter 1:3

Today’s promise reminds us that God has already given us everything we need for a life of obedience and fellowship with Him.

Everything You Need

When our kids went off to college, we made sure they had everything they needed. We paid their tuition, secured their housing, and even checked their cars before they left. We wanted to ensure they had everything they needed for a successful college experience.

In the same way, through Christ, God has given you everything you need for life and godly living. His supernatural power has already provided everything you will ever need to live the Christian life.

The God you serve is a generous God who willingly provides for all your needs. Some Christians act as though God is stingy. They live as if God only gives out blessings to those who are worthy or exceptional.

Resting in Him

In the sermon on the mount, Jesus taught us not to worry about tomorrow. Just as God takes care of the flowers and trees, He will take care of you.

The Christian life isn’t about struggling to perform and please God. The true Christian life rests in the blessings and power Christ has already given you.

God is your true provision. Your job, spouse, or 401K will never bring you true security. Your Heavenly Father has already given you all you need.

Notice this verse is in the past tense. God has already provided. Before my children left for college, I had already taken care of everything they needed. God has already given you all you need to live an obedient and godly life.

Godly Living

God has granted you all the power and resources you will ever need to live a life pleasing to Him. Through Christ, He has given you access to Him so you can know and fellowship with Him.

Today, you have everything you need to live and walk in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Look at that promise again.

Seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. – 2 Peter 1:3

Make these confessions.

  • God gives me everything I need for daily living.
  • I will not worry about tomorrow because God is my provision.
  • His divine power is working in me today.
  • I have everything I need to live the Christian life.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Through His supernatural power, Christ has given you everything you need to live the Victorious Christian life.
