Saturday Review
Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise. Every Saturday, we review the promises we learned during the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts.
Monday – God Keeps His Promise
We began the week by seeing how our God is the promise-keeping God. What He has promised, He will do.
Here’s the promise.
Blessed be the Lord who has given rest to his people Israel, according to all that he promised. Not one word has failed of all his good promise, which he spoke by Moses his servant. – 1 Kings 8:56
Make these confessions.
- Every promise of God will come true.
- Even when I don’t understand, God works to fulfill His word.
- I trust God that what He has said, He will do.
- I stand on God’s promise to me today.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
The God you serve is the promise-keeping God. He will always fulfill His word.
Tuesday – God Gives Wisdom
On Tuesday, we talked about how God’s wisdom empowers us to make good choices that lead to success. God promises to give wisdom to everyone who asks.
Here’s the promise.
But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. – James 1:5
Make these confessions.
- I have wisdom that comes only from God.
- When I ask, God gives me wisdom freely and generously.
- When I need direction or clarity, I ask God for wisdom.
- God’s wisdom helps me make wise choices that bring about success in my life.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
When you face an important decision, ask God for direction and wisdom. His wisdom will give you the clarity to make the right choice.
Wednesday – God is for You, Not Against You
Midway through the week, we celebrated the promise that God is on our side. With God beside us, how can we fear anything or anyone who comes against us?
Here’s the promise.
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? – Romans 8:31
Make these confessions.
- God is for me.
- I will not fear because I know God is walking with me.
- Today, I stand with confidence, knowing God is on my side.
- I am tearing down walls, defeating giants, and living in freedom because God is with me.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
You can face your greatest challenges and fears because God is on your side.
Thursday – Jesus Sent the Holy Spirit
On Thursday, we claimed the promise of the Holy Spirit. Jesus promised the Holy Spirit to all who would believe in Him. As His followers, we have the Holy Spirit in us today.
Here’s the promise.
But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. – John 16:7
Make these confessions.
- I have the Holy Spirit dwelling in me.
- He is teaching me and providing all I need.
- I have an intimate relationship with God through the Holy Spirit.
- The Holy Spirit empowers me to be all God has called me to be.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
Just as Jesus promised, the Holy Spirit is filling, guiding, and empowering those who make Him their Lord and Savior.
Friday – Your Bitterness is Removed
We ended the week with the command and promise that we can live a life without bitterness. As we forgive others and ourselves, we destroy any root of bitterness that tries to take hold in our lives.
Here’s the promise.
See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled. – Hebrews 12:15
Make these confessions.
- With God’s grace – I will not allow bitterness to take hold of me.
- With God’s grace – I forgive others the way Christ forgives me.
- With God’s grace – I forgive my past sins and mistakes.
- With God’s grace – I’m pulling up every root of bitterness growing in my heart.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
We can live above bitterness through the power of God’s grace in our lives. As you show others the same grace and forgiveness Christ gives you, you will find the roots of bitterness wither and die.
That’s it for this week. I hope these promises have been a blessing to you. Go back through these promises and allow God to renew your mind with these truths from His Word. Share one of these promises with a friend or family member. Everyone can use an encouraging word from God’s Word.
