God Guides Your Steps
And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.
Isaiah 30:21
God Will Direct
Sometimes, it’s hard to know which way to go. We have the promise that through the Holy Spirit, God will lead and direct us.
We have all played the game where one person is blindfolded, and the other tells them which way to go or what to do. This is a perfect picture of how God leads us. He directs and guides you step by step.
Before we go further, let me remind you that God wants to lead you. Throughout the Bible, God promises to lead, direct, and guide those who put their faith and trust in Him.
God Rarely Shows the Destination
The first problem you face is that God rarely shows you the destination. Like your GSP, God only gives you the next step. As you respond in faith and obedience, He then gives you the next step. You may not know where He is leading, but you do know the next you should take.
Imagine God standing behind you, telling you when to turn left, when to turn right, and when to keep going straight. God promises that type of guidance.
Listening for God’s Voice
The second problem you face is hearing God’s instruction. You have to listen for His voice. I have never heard God speak to me audibly, but I have heard Him speak to my heart with absolute clarity. You must tune your spiritual ears to hear his voice.
By walking in fellowship with the Lord and listening to His voice, you can be confident that He will lead and direct your path. The more you listen to His voice, the more you will recognize and hear His voice.
Throughout your day, tune your ears to His voice and listen for His direction. Ask the Lord for direction and clarity if you are uncertain of your next step. He promises to answer.
Look at that promise again.

Make these confessions.
- God will lead and direct me throughout my day.
- I need God’s guidance to know the best way to go.
- When I tune my ears to His voice, I hear Him more clearly.
- God may not show me the final destination, but He will show me the next step.

God promises to lead and guide you in the way you should go. All you have to do is listen for his voice and be obedient to Him.

I have felt God guide my steps by speaking to my heart and soul.. it s just a feeling that you just know comes from the Lord🙏
I was sitting in a meeting of a church ministry group. They needed someone to be secretary. Outwardly, I didn’t see a place for myself, but a voice in my head said “you do it.” So I said “I’ll do it.” We were all surprised, but I did that job for five years, and it deepened my faith and nourished my spirit.
God has given me guidance which way to go and, when I have followed His leading, my life has been enriched wonderfully.
