This Week’s Promises
Psalm 1:3 | Revelation 4:20-22 | Romans 4:20-22 | Romans 8:32 | 1 John 1:3
Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise. Every Saturday, we review the promises we learned during the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts.
Monday – You Will Not Wither
We began the week claiming the promise that as we base our life on the Word of God, we will find strength and refreshment even in the most difficult of times. We will be like a tree whose leaf does not wither.
Here’s the promise.
But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers. – Psalm 1:2-3
Make these confessions.
- I will focus and delight in God’s Word.
- In the darkest of winter, I will still flourish.
- When everyone else is fainting, I will be strong.
- In Jesus Christ, I will not fade but will bring glory to God in all I do.
- In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
God’s Word produces a continual flow of life and joy. Even in difficult times, we bring glory to God.
Tuesday – God’s Promises Will be Fulfilled
On Tuesday, we saw how God always fulfills His promise. When God says something, you can trust that He will bring it to pass. However, we must never forget that God fulfills His promises on His timetable, not ours.
Here’s the promise.
Yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform. Therefore it was also credited to him as righteousness. – Romans 4:20-22
Make these confessions.
- What God has promised He will do.
- I will hold onto God’s promise until I see it fulfilled.
- I will trust in God’s timetable, not my own.
- I know God is willing and able to do what He promised.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
God is faithful to fulfill every promise He makes. It’s not always on your timetable, but it is always for your good.
Wednesday – Your Eternal Home
Midway through the week, we celebrated the promise that Christ will return and bring about a new heaven and Earth. We will live in the new kingdom of God for all eternity.
Here’s the promise.
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first Earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. – Revelation 21:1
Make these confessions.
- One day, I will see God’s new heaven and Earth.
- One day, God will remove all my pain and wipe every tear away.
- One day, I will enjoy a new, eternal body made to live on the new Earth God has created.
- One day, I will live in the constant joy of God’s presence.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
God’s new heaven and Earth will be specifically created for His kingdom and those who have put their faith in Him. By the way, it’s going to be amazing!
Thursday – God Gives You All You Need
On Thursday, we claimed the promise that through Jesus Christ, God freely gives us all things. As children of God, we can come to Him expecting Him to answer our prayers and provide our every need.
Here’s the promise.
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? – Romans 8:32
Make these confessions.
- God is on my side, working for my good.
- He willingly gave His Son to purchase my salvation.
- He will freely give me everything I need.
- I can come to Him as His child, knowing He will bless me and give me all things.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
If God willingly sent His only Son to die for you on the cross, why would He not willingly help you when you call on Him?
Friday – God Calls You His Child
We ended the week with the promise that through faith in Christ, God has made us part of the family of God.
As His children, we are heirs to the kingdom of God. We are holy and righteous representatives of God’s family.
Here’s the promise.
How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. – 1 John 3:1
Make these confessions.
- I am part of the Family of God.
- By faith, I am a child of God and an heir to His kingdom.
- When I feel discouraged, I remember having a spiritual family around the world.
- When Jesus returns, I will meet my spiritual family and celebrate in the eternal Kingdom of God.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
As a follower of Christ, you are part of a family that spans generations and covers every corner of the world. Your Father is the king of the universe. You are a member of the family of God.
That’s it for this week. I hope these promises have been a blessing to you. Go back through these promises and allow God to renew your mind with these truths from His Word. Share one of these promises with a friend or family member. Everyone can use an encouraging word from God’s Word.
