Today’s Promise

December 10, 2024

God’s Goodness is Stored up for You

Oh, how abundant is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you and worked for those who take refuge in you, in the sight of the children of mankind!
Psalm 31:19

God’s Goodness

God has a never-ending supply of goodness and mercy stored up for you and me.

Earlier in this Psalm, David cried out to God for protection from his enemies. After asking for help, he breaks out in praise and worship to God, knowing He will answer. In doing so, he reveals a beautiful promise from God.

God Stores up Goodness

God stores up goodness for those who put their trust in Him. God’s goodness is His mercy, favor, and blessings. Imagine a massive heavenly warehouse filled with every blessing and mercy God has for you. God has set aside a lifetime supply of His goodness just for you.

God has already stored up everything you will ever need in life. He has stored the answer to your prayer even before you ask. He has anticipated every need and is ready to dispense his grace and mercy whenever you need it. Even before you ask, heaven’s answer is ready.

The Condition

Like many of God’s promises, there is a condition to this promise. This promise is only for those who fear the Lord and put their trust in Him.

Fearing God is honoring Him. It’s not cowering in the dust before Him but living with honor and respect for the Lord. Fearing God is understanding that you will give Him an account of your life.

Taking refuge in the Lord is seeking His protection and trusting that He will supply your every need.

When you put your faith and trust in the Lord, the keys of heaven open the warehouse doors, and God’s goodness, blessings, and mercy are released into your life. No matter what you do, you will never deplete God’s goodness and mercy stored up for you.

Look at that promise again.

Oh, how abundant is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you and worked for those who take refuge in you, in the sight of the children of mankind! – Psalm 31:19

Make these confessions.

  • God stores up mercy and blessings for me.
  • I fear and trust in the Lord.
  • God’s goodness toward me is everlasting.
  • God has the answer before I need it.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

No matter what you are facing, God has goodness and mercy already waiting in heaven. When you trust in Him, He releases goodness and mercy into your life.

The Lord has been my shepherd all my life and has never given up on me, but pursued me when I strayed and brought me back into His fold where I belong. Thank You Lord.
