Today’s Promise
December 24, 2025
The Prince of Peace
For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
Centuries before Jesus was born, the prophet Isaiah foretold four defining qualities of the coming Messiah. Today, let’s reflect on the final quality he named: the Prince of Peace.
Christmas is Stressful
As wonderful as Christmas is, it can also be a stressful and anxious season. Whether you’re traveling to see family or hosting them in your home, each situation brings its own unique challenges. The potential for unexpected drama always lingers. Gone are the days of worrying about crowded malls and finding the perfect present; now we wonder, “Will Amazon deliver that last gift by Christmas Eve?”
The Prince of Peace
Yet, amid all the scurry and worry, we have the promise of peace. The Christ of Christmas not only brings peace; He is peace. He is the Prince of Peace. Wherever Jesus is present, peace follows. On this Christmas Eve, pause for a moment to rest in Christ. Allow the perfect peace He promises to fill your heart today.
Look at the promise again.
For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. – Isaiah 9:6
Make these confessions.
- Jesus is my Prince of Peace.
- I claim His peace in my life today.
- As I trust and rest in Him, I have peace beyond measure.
- Today, I worship the Prince of Peace.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
When you have Jesus, you have the Price of Peace. Remember, He is your peace. Rest in that peace.
