Today’s Promise

I Have Confidence Before God

Hebrews 4:16

Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Today, you have received an invitation.

Jesus delivers the invitation, and it requests your presence before the King of Glory.

Where many would come before the King in fear and trembling, you can go before Him boldly. This promise invites you to come before God with confidence. The word “confidence” here means to speak freely. You come before God and speak openly with Him.

You don’t have to come to God with fancy words or pious phrases.

You don’t have to try and impress God with religious words. So many people feel they need to sound spiritual when they talk to God. God is not impressed with spiritual sounding works or religious attitudes.

You can freely share the most intimate needs of your heart. You can tell God things you would never even tell your closest of friends.

You are before the throne of grace, not the throne of judgment. There is no fear of condemnation, only the confidence that you will find mercy and help.

Mercy is all about your past.

Mercy covers your past failures and sin. Because Jesus walked on this earth, He knows the temptations and frailties you face. He is mindful and sympathetic to your weaknesses.

Whereas mercy is about your past, help is about your future. When you come before God, you will find help for the problems, struggles, and pain you are going through today.

In your greatest time of need, and at your lowest point of failure, you have an invitation to come freely before God’s throne of grace.

Look at that promise one more time.

Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. – Hebrews 4:16

Confess this with me.

  • God invites me to come before Him with confidence.
  • I come before the throne of grace, not the throne of condemnation.
  • I find mercy and help when I come before Him in prayer
  • At His feet, I find grace, mercy, and help.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

If you haven’t spent time with the Lord today, why not stop right here and come before Him in prayer. When you do, there is no need for fear. There is no judgment before Him. At His feet, you will find mercy for your past and help for your future.
