Saturday Review

Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise. Every Saturday, we review the promises we learned during the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts.

Monday

We started the week, claiming the promise that we are part of the family of God. Our family spans generations and covers every corner of the world.

Here’s the promise.

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. – 1 John 3:1

Make these confessions.
  • I am part of the Family of God.
  • By faith, I am a child of God and an heir to the Kingdom of God.
  • When I feel discouraged, I remind myself that I have family members around the world.
  • When Jesus returns, I will meet all my other family members and celebrate the eternal Kingdom of God.

In Jesus name,
Amen

As members of the Family of God, we will spend eternity together in the Kingdom of God.

Tuesday

On Tuesday, we saw that when Christ returns, those faithful to minister to others will receive a crown of glory. That crown will never fade and will last for all eternity.

Here’s the promise.

And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. – 1 Peter 5:4

Make these confessions with me.
  • God will reward my service to Him and the body of Christ.
  • When Jesus returns, I will receive my reward.
  • I am storing up my rewards in heaven.
  • One day I will wear a crown of glory.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

Don’t get discouraged in serving the Lord. You may not see all the rewards you want to see in this life, but you can be confident that your reward is waiting when Jesus returns.

Wednesday

Midway through the week, we saw that when we stray from the Lord, He is ready to greet us when we return to Him.

Here’s the promise.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. – James 4:8

Make these confessions.
  • God is ever ready and waiting to welcome me back into His presence.
  • I cannot be double-minded and draw close to God.
  • I can’t keep my sin and walk in His presence.
  • When I draw close to God, He draws close to me.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

No matter how far away you are from God when you draw near to Him, He will draw near to you.

Thursday

On Thursday, we claimed the promise that as we put God’s word into our lives, it will keep us from sin.

Here’s the promise.

Your Word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You. – Psalm 119:11

Make these confessions.
  • As I treasure God’s Word, it renews my mind.
  • When I read and study God’s Word, it strengthens my faith.
  • God’s Word shows me when I sin and how to get right with God.
  • As I treasure God’s Word in my heart, it keeps me from sin.

In Jesus name,
Amen

As you place God’s Word deep in your heart, it transforms your thinking and living. It will keep you from sin and give you strength when tempted.

Friday

We ended the week with Jesus’ promise that we are the light of the world.

Here’s the promise.

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. – Matthew 5:14

Make these confessions.
  • In Jesus Christ, I am the light of the world.
  • I am a city set on a hill
  • I bring the kingdom of God into every situation of life.
  • I walk in clarity, security, and guidance.
  • I bring the Father’s light to a world of darkness.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

Jesus didn’t say, “Try real hard to be the light.” He declared, “You are the light!” Strike a match, and it doesn’t try and be the light. By its nature, it shines brightly. You are the light of the world, so shine on!

That’s it for the week, and thanks for being a part of The Daily Promise family. If you are able to attend church tomorrow, I pray you are strengthened by God’s Word and worshipping with other believers.
