Today’s Promise

December 13, 2021

Your Giving Will Be Rewarded

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
Matthew 10:42

It may be contrary to your thinking, but God promises that when you give to others, it will come back to you.

God’s Kingdom is Different

The Kingdom of God often works the opposite of the world and our thinking.

Jesus has just finished dropping a list of things His followers should do. All are contrary to the way we would normally act.

We are to love our enemies, do good to those who hate us, bless those who curse us, pray for those who mistreat us, and never retaliate. He ends the list with this promise. When you give, it will be given back to you.

Generous Givers

Jesus commands His followers to be generous givers. We are to be conduits of His blessings. When God blesses us, we pass those blessings along to others.

When you give time, kindness, skill, and money, you activate the principle of Reciprocal Behavior. What you give, God gives back to you.

Although the goal is never to give so you can receive, we do have the promise that we cannot out-give God.

Full and Overflowing

When God gives back to you, it is full and overflowing. Jesus said your giving comes back to you pressed down, shaken together, and running over. Imagine a container of flour. It’s not only full but has been packed down, then shaken to make sure every square inch is full, then the flour is piled up to the point that it’s flowing over the sides.

That is how God blesses you when you give. When you give to your church, God blesses you. When you support ministries, God blesses. When you give to a friend in need, God notices. Jesus said that even a cup of water given in His name would not be overlooked. God blesses those who bless others.

God calls you to a life of generosity where the blessings you receive are passed on to others. In the process, you receive blessings that overflow back to you.

Look at that promise again.

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” – Matthew 10:42

Make these confessions.

  • As a Christ-follower, God calls me to be generous.
  • God calls me to be a conduit of His blessings.
  • When I give, it comes back to me.
  • As God blesses me, I will bless others.

In Jesus name,
Amen

When we refuse to give and keep everything to ourselves, we miss out on the wonderful blessing of God giving back to us. Thriving Christians are Generous Christians.

Amen! God has blessed us as His children so that we may bless others cheerfully! “God loves a cheerful giver “ (2 Corinthians 9:7) for He, Himself is the original “cheerful giver”. He joys in giving and calls us to that same joy.

I am an Australian of 74 years, dead at 18 months from drowning in a well but miraculously still alive. I am looking for mega millions in the new year to build a refuge for girls and women with a problem pregnancy because God asked me to get involved in this area. I have written a book that I hope to have published in the United States. If you think that you can help please let me know.

    Blessings,

    Leonard Carroll

The Lord has been faithful to me. He has blessed me with a home which seemed impossible until a few years ago. This miracle helped me change my perspective toward God though this is not the only miracle of my life. I believe God has blessed me thus only because of ‘Giving’. Thank You.Thank You.Thank You.
