You Are the Lord’s
For if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.
Romans 14:8
Who vs Whose
When all is said and done, it doesn’t matter who you are as much as it matters whose you are.
Most of us spend a lifetime trying discover who we really are. We wear different hats and present a different version of ourselves to the world. We show one side of us at work, another to our family, and maybe even another at church on Sunday.
Knowing who you are is important, but knowing whose you are is even more important. Life changes when you understand whose you are.
You are the Lord’s
As a born-again follower of Christ, you are the Lord’s. When you came to Christ in faith, God became your Father, and you became His child. You are a child of the King of Glory, and God always takes care of His children.
When you are the Lord’s, there is no fear of death. You know that when you die, you will see Jesus face-to-face and spend eternity with Him.
When you are the Lord’s, there’s no fear of life because as a child of the Living God, you know He is watching over you, guiding and providing all you need.
Your Father is the great creator. He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Your Father holds all things together and owns the cattle on a thousand hills. No good thing is He withholding from you.
You are the Lord’s. You are his child and 1 Peter 2:9 says you are His prized possession. Like the prodigal son’s father, God has placed His ring and robe on you. You have the righteousness of Christ on your shoulders and the Holy Spirit within you. He has given you His name. Even the word Christian identifies whose you are.
Just remember, because you are the Lord’s.
You don’t have to fear tomorrow.
You never fear death because you will see the Lord.
You live above worry or anxiety because God takes care of His own.
You can walk in confidence because you are His prized possession.
On your worst day and your best day, you are still the Lord’s.
You were never good enough for God to love you and make you His own. There is nothing you can do to change His love for you. Praise the Lord for His grace that called you to Himself, gave you His name, and made you His child.
Look at that promise again.
For if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. – Romans 14:8
Makes these confessions.
- I am the Lord’s.
- Whether I live or die, I am still the Lord’s.
- He has made me His child and will take care of me now and in the future.
- Praise God for His grace and love that is poured over me.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
Take a moment and thank the Lord for adopting you into His family. Praise Him for His unfailing love and grace that He has poured out on you.
Yesterday I mentioned we are celebrating the fifth year of this ministry this week. Before the end of the year, I’ll be releasing a new book entitled “Praying for Pastors.” Our goal is to encourage one million church members to pray for their pastors for 31 days. Over the last few years, pastors have struggled as never before. Many are considering leaving the ministry. Please join me in praying for God to provide $50,000 by the end of the year to launch this vital ministry of encouragement. Strong pastors lead strong churches, and strong churches impact our country.
For everyone who makes an anniversary gift to the ministry, I will send you a teaching I just put together called Faith vs. Fear, releasing your faith to overcome fear.
Right now, we are being bombarded with fear-filled messages about the economy, the potential for war, when the next pandemic may come, and the list goes on and on. I know Satan is working overtime to lure God’s people into living in fear.
Again for everyone who makes a gift to the ministry, I’ll send you a copy of the eBook and the audio version of Faith vs. Fear.
