Today’s Promise

Psalm 1:3

He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.

The person who delights and focuses on the Word of God will be like a tree firmly planted.

Here are five qualities of a firmly planted trees.

A tree firmly planted can withstand the storms of life.

When the wind blows, and the storms come, a tree that has deep roots can stand firm. As you allow the Word of God to go deep in your heart, you will have the strength and a foundation that will survive any and every storm of life.

A tree firmly planted is refreshing.

There’s something refreshing about sitting in the shade of a big tree. The tree provides a cooling refreshment on a hot summer day. God will use you to refresh the tired and hurting around you. You will bring God’s refreshing spirit into every situation of life.

A tree firmly planted lasts for generations.

Some oak trees can live for 500 years. The Bristlecone Pine can live up to 5,000 years. God wants to plant you firmly so you can leave a heritage of faith to your family and friends.

A tree firmly planted provides protection.

St Paul’s Chapel in New York City is located just 100 yards from the Twin Towers that collapsed on 911. The chapel survived the catastrophe because it was protected by a giant sycamore tree planted in the graveyard by the church. God will use you to protect your family from the attack of every enemy.

A tree firmly planted was planted for a purpose.

Some trees are wild-grown, but planted trees are there for a purpose. It may be for shade, or just to look nice, but the property owner planted with a purpose in mind. God has you planted right where you are with a purpose in mind. He wants to use you to provide protection, refreshment, and security for those around you.

Here’s the promise again.

He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers. – Psalm 1:3

Confess this with me.

As I delight in God’s word, I will be like a firmly planted tree.
God has me where I am for a purpose
I provide refreshing shelter to everyone around me.
The storms of life will not move me because I am firmly planted
I will make an impact on those around me for generations to come.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

As you learn to delight in the word of the Lord, God is going to make you like a tree firmly planted for His glory.

I hope you will join me every day this week as we dig deep into this incredible promise from God’s Word.

Thanks Brother Billy for that word today. Truly a word in season. I had so many hoops to jump thru this morning but by the Grace of God and focusing in His Word ahead a time got me thru this morning. We are that tree, we may bend from all the circumstances blowing our way but we won’t break. Thank you, Sis Goodlett. Praying for you too!!!
