Today’s Promise
Spiritual Fruit is Growing in Me
Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
As you read through this promise, there is no doubt we could all use a little more peace, patience, joy, and love. Who doesn’t want more kindness and self-control?
God promises that as we walk in the power and control of the Holy Spirit, all these spiritual fruit will become evident in our life. They are the natural outgrowth of the life controlled by the Holy Spirit.
Through discipline and diligence, we may be able to add some of these qualities in our life, but it’s tough to work on being more joyful.
How many times have you commented, “I need to be more patient,” or “I need to worry less.” Have you ever gotten impatient with your progress on becoming more patient? I know I have.
The beautiful truth is that these are natural qualities that will follow the life that is filled with the Holy Spirit. As you walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, love, joy, peace, and all the other fruit will become more and more evident in your life.
When these qualities are not evident in your life, they indicate that you are not walking in the Spirit. You can use these to gauge your walk in the Spirit.
Are you Struggling with peace? Maybe that area hasn’t been turned over to the Lord.
Impatient with the world around you? Might be a good time to check your submission to the lord.
Have you lost your love and concern for others? Maybe you need to step back and ask the Holy Spirit to fill you.
God wants spiritual fruit to be growing in your life. As you allow the Holy Spirit to fill you and walk in submission to Him, you have the promise that spiritual fruit are growing in your life.
Look at that promise one more time.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. – Galatians 5:22-23
