This Week’s Scriptures

Isaiah 9:6 John 1:14 Luke 1:38 Matthew 2:1-2 | Isaiah 9:6

Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise.

Every Saturday, we review the promises of the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts and lives. We spent this week looking at Biblical promises related to the coming of Jesus and what they mean for us today.

On Monday, we saw how God had a plan to redeem and restore His people from the moment sin entered into the world.

Here’s the promise.

For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. – Isaiah 9:6

Make this confession.
  • The birth of Jesus was the fulfillment of God’s perfect plan.
  • Jesus brought salvation and redemption to my life.
  • God is never surprised by my actions or the problems I face.
  • He is working behind the scenes to bring about His plan in my life.

In Jesus name,
Amen

On Tuesday, we saw how Jesus came in the flesh. He was all God, and all man wrapped up in one person. Because He walked on this earth, He understands our weaknesses and pain.

Here’s the promise.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. – John 1:14

Make this confession.
  • Jesus is the Word of God.
  • Jesus was all of God and all of man in one body.
  • I don’t have to reach up to God because He reached down to me.
  • Because Jesus walked on this earth, He knows the struggles I face.

In Jesus name,
Amen

Midway through the week, we saw how God was able to use Mary because she had a submissive heart toward God. God can use you and me as we give our lives full for His use.

Here’s the promise.

And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her. – Luke 1:38

Make this confession.
  • God uses the weak and powerless to accomplish His will.
  • God uses the available over the talented.
  • God, I submit my life to you to use as You will.
  • Father, I am your servant. Be it unto me according to Your Word.

In Jesus name,
Amen

On Thursday, we looked at the Wise Men and their seeking after the Christ child. When we learn to seek Christ with all our heart, we will find Him.

Here’s the promise.

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.” – Matthew 2:1-2

Make this confession.
  • Jesus came as the Savior to all people.
  • I am seeking Christ with all my heart.
  • When I seek Him, I find Him.
  • The wise person seeks after Christ and finds peace and fulfillment.

In Jesus name,
Amen

We ended the week seeing how Jesus is our Wonderful Counselor. He is the mighty One who has need of nothing. He brings wisdom, counsel, and guidance to all who follow Him.

Here’s the promise.

For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. – Isaiah 9:6

Make this confession.
  • As the Wonderful Counselor, He will reign with supernatural power and authority.
  • As the Wonderful Counselor, He brings wisdom and direction to my life.
  • As the Wonderful Counselor, all nations will bow before Him.
  • As the Wonderful Counselor, He is ready to bring comfort and peace to my hurting heart.

In Jesus name,
Amen

That’s it for this week. I hope these five promises have been a blessing to you. Tomorrow is the Lord’s day, so I hope you will be in church, worshiping the Lord and hearing His Word.
