Today’s Promise

January 11, 2021

God Goes Before Me

The Lord your God who goes before you will Himself fight on your behalf, just as He did for you in Egypt before your eyes, and in the wilderness where you saw how the Lord your God carried you, just as a man carries his son.
Deuteronomy 1:30-31

We all Face Giants

We all face giants. They intimidate us and keep us from experiencing the promised land God has for us. However, God has promised to go before us and fight the battle on our behalf.

The Children of God faced a crisis of faith as they stood on the edge of the Promised Land. The land was indeed fertile, fruitful, and good, but it was filled with giants. They had to decide, would they face their enemy with trust and obedience to God, or would they turn in fear?

God Gives Before You

I love that first phrase, “your God who goes before you.” Moses had complete confidence that God would go before them and fight for them. Sometimes I forget that God is going before me.

Imagine going through your day with the King of Glory, clearing your path like the Secret Service going ahead of the President.

Facing Your Giants

Have you ever faced a giant? Maybe not a physical one, but giants come in many forms. They can be financial, relational, or even personal. Giants are intimidating, threatening, and frightening. Maybe you are facing a giant today.

Remember, your God goes before you and fights the battle on your behalf.

What would you attempt today if you were absolutely convinced God was going before you?

God Fights Your Battles

How many of your giants would fall if you truly believed that God was fighting your battles for you?

Today, as you are faced with challenges, problems, and giants, remember God is going before you. When the enemy attacks, God will fight the battle.

When it seems like you can’t go on, He will carry you in His loving arms. Trust God to fight for you in the midst of the battle.

Let’s review that promise again.

The Lord your God who goes before you will Himself fight on your behalf, just as He did for you in Egypt before your eyes, and in the wilderness where you saw how the Lord your God carried you, just as a man carries his son. – Deuteronomy 1:30-31 (NASB)

Make these confessions.

  • Today, God is going before me, clearing the way.
  • When I face a giant, God fights the battle for me.
  • When I feel like I can’t go on, Jesus carries me in His loving arms.

I claim this in Jesus Name,
Amen

When you face your biggest giant, remember God is going before you to fight the battle on your behalf.

I face the giant of motivation and acceptance of my heart failure. It goes up and down. Right now it’s deep in the valley of depression

I am so sorry. I am praying God healing and peace to rest on you today. I am praying the Holy Spirit comes into your valley of depression and lifts you up to the mountain. – Billy
