Today’s Promise

God Sees Me For Who I Can Be

Judges 6:12

The angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, “The Lord is with you, O valiant warrior.”

God Sees More

The Lord sees more in you than you see in yourself. You see yourself through your physical eyes. You see all the flaws and imperfections. You also see your history, your failures, and what others have told you. God sees you for who you really are, and who you can be through Him. God sees you for who you were meant to be, not what you have settled for.

This promise comes from an interesting scene in the life of Gideon. An angel appeared to Gideon and called him a valiant warrior.

At the time, Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress. You normally thresh wheat on the top of a hill or a raised area so the wind will blow the chaff away. A winepress is built low in the ground, sometimes sunk into the ground. There was no breeze and no wind to help with threshing the wheat.

Why was Gideon in the winepress instead of on a hill where he belonged? He was hiding from the enemy. He was down in a winepress hoping the enemy wouldn’t see him. This is not exactly the place you find the valiant warrior who will lead the army of God.

God Sees What You Don’t

However, God saw something in Gideon that he didn’t see in himself. God was going to take Gideon from the winepress to the war room. God would show His strength and power through Gideon. We won’t go into the details of the battle, but God uses Gideon to bring victory and deliverance to His people.

God sees more in you than you see in yourself. He is calling you to a life of faith and victory. If you allow Him to, God will use you as never before. You may be in winepress today, full of fear and frustration, but God sees in you a valiant warrior. He sees you as one who can bring help, healing, and deliverance to those around you.

The question is, will you believe what you say and think of yourself, or what God says about you.

Look at that promise again.

The angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, “The Lord is with you, O valiant warrior.” – Judges 6:12

Make these confessions.

  • How I see myself is unimportant.
  • How God sees me is what matters.
  • Today, I will live the life God has for me.
  • I will be all He sees in me.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

When God looks at you, He sees more in you than you see in yourself. You may be full of fear and worry, but God sees you as a mighty valiant warrior.

    I really appreciate these words:

How I see myself is unimportant.
How God sees me is what matters.
Today, I will live the life God has for me.
I will be all He sees in me.

What the Lord sees is all that matters. Lord, help me remember these truths daily. Blessing and love Daily Promise family.
