Today’s Promise

God Will Clear Your Path

In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Proverbs 3:6

A Clear Path

Have you ever needed clarity? Ever felt like you needed God’s help in making a big decision? Today’s promise is about how God leads you in the right direction.

We all need God’s direction in our life. Every day, we face decisions where we simply don’t know what to do. We come to a fork in the road and aren’t sure if we should go to the right or left. That’s when many people think about asking God for direction and leadership. However, God is not our personal GPS. We can’t just turn Him on for guidance and then turn Him off when we arrive safely.

Not Your Last Resort

Turning to the Lord shouldn’t be your last resort but your first step in beginning your journey.

Most of God’s promises are conditional. Before you can secure the promise, you must meet His condition. Before God can lead you, you must acknowledge Him.

When you acknowledge God in all your ways, you say, “God, today you are in control. All my goals, desires, and hopes are in your hands. Today, I set my life before you to use as you wish.”

A Recipe for Disaster

Sometimes, we ask God for direction without having asked Him if this is where He wants us to go. Having clear directions to the wrong location is a recipe for disaster. We should ask, “God, where do you want me to go?” and “How do I get there?”

When we acknowledge Him, He promises to give direction and lead us down a straight path.

With God’s leadership, you have clarity and direction. But God promises more than just knowing which way to go. He promises to make your path straight.

God Clear Your Path

When you acknowledge God in all your ways, He clears the path, making it straight and smooth. He removes every obstacle and hazard. It’s the picture of someone cutting a clear and straight path through a dark and dangerous jungle.

As you acknowledge Him, He clears the path, removes the obstacles, and helps you avoid any detours. He makes your path straight.

Look at that promise again.

In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. – Proverbs 3:6

Make these confessions.

  • As I acknowledge the Lord, He shows me the way to go.
  • When I ask, God gives me direction and clarity.
  • He removes every obstacle.
  • He makes my path straight and clear.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

Remember, before God can lead you, you must submit your life to Him. When you trust in Him, he clears the path before you.

The past two years have been a battle. We felt God open our eyes to needing to relocate in order to draw nearer to Him.
We have a church and don’t know why this happened, but it did and we wrestled with it.

We didn’t want to be misled so we prayed a lot about it. God gave us confirmation twice at a sister church’s revival, but because things didn’t fall into place for us to move right then, we started doubting and becoming confused about moving at all.

Months past, I’m still praying, then some frustrations with my husband’s job surface. He said one night as we were leaving an employee recognition event, “I need a better paying job to support us. I feel I don’t belong here. Disconnected.”

That night, he applied to a business located two hours away which I had told him weeks ago was hiring (but I guess it wasn’t God’s timing when I initially shared it with him).
There was a dream he had about two months ago, that I also felt meant he was going to be led to that business, but he thought I was crazy.

I included that tidbit in case God shows a wife something that the husband doesn’t seem to see. Be patient, be respectful and wait on God while showering your husband in prayer during this difficult time. Do NOT try to take control of the situation and “make things happen” because I believe it will not go well.

Anyway, he had his interview yesterday and coincidentally (God’s plan), one of the people who works with my husband said she has a rental in the area we feel led to move to. We checked it out and it’s not far, at all, from the place we believe he will be working at soon!

Bottom line, we keep asking for God’s guidance through all of this because our decision will affect all the young and old in age, friends of ours, our children and grandchildren and we DO NOT want to cause anyone to stumble in their walk with God. We also want to maintain a healthy relationship with our current Pastor so we continue to pray about this.

    God is good ❤️

Meant to say “Months pass…” and I’m sure there are more typos haha.

I often spend hours each day on the phone on hold waiting to reach someone I need to contact or struggle with a project where something breaks down or I need parts and waste a lot of time getting what I need, but Monday morning I asked God to show me what He wanted me to do, and I focused on His agenda and things went remarkably smoothly and got much done. God’s ways are better than ours.
