Today’s Promise
I Am Alive in Christ
Ephesians 2:4-5
But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved.
God’s Mercy
I love the way this promise begins. God is “rich” in mercy. God is more than a little merciful. The depth of his mercy goes beyond our understanding. If you are like me, I need all the mercy of God I can get. Because of that abounding mercy, He has made you and I alive in Christ.
Before you became a Christian, you were dead in your sin. You were separated from God and was a slave to your own desires and lusts. (Titus 3:3) When you came to Christ, He paid your sin price and broke the power that sin had over you.
Alive in Christ
That should have been enough, but the God that is rich in mercy also made you alive with Christ. Jesus brought life to your dead soul. He has made you alive to God and alive for all eternity.
God’s life is flowing through you by the Holy Spirit. He has raised you up to a new level of life. You are alive as never before. Eternal life is just the result of the new life God has given you. The body you live in now will one day die, but your spirit will live eternally.
One day, when Christ returns, you will be raised to eternal life. You will receive a new body that will last for all eternity.
Look at that promise again.
But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved. – Ephesians 2:4-5
Make these confessions.
- God has made me alive with Jesus Christ.
- The power of sin has been broken.
- One day I will be raised to a new life for all eternity.
- I will have a new body design for living in the kingdom of God.
In Jesus name,
Amen
God raise you up with Christ and has made you alive. He gives you the hope that one day, you will be raised up with Him for all eternity.
