Today’s Promise
I Am Alive in Christ
For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.
1 Corinthians 15:22
Adam Brought Death
God placed Adam and Eve into a perfect world where every need was met. They walked with God in the cool of the day and enjoyed fellowship with their creator.
However, when Adam and Eve sinned, they brought separation from God and death into the world. Sin always brings separation and death. All creation felt the impact of Adam’s sin. Adam passed his sinful nature on to all of us. Now sin and death would reign over the world and the hearts of men.
You can’t avoid death. Sure, you can try and postpone death by eating healthy, going to the gym, and getting regular medical exams, but in the end, we all face death. The mortality rate is always 100%.
However, just as Adam brought sin and death into the world, Jesus brings righteousness and life.
Alive in Christ
When Christ stepped out of the tomb that first Easter Sunday, He overcame the power of death. Romans 8:11 says that when God raised Christ from the grave, you were raised with Him.
Jesus broke the chains of sin and gave you a new, righteous nature. He also made you alive with Him. As a Christian, the life of Christ dwells in you.
Just Asleep
The New Testament refers to Christians who have died as “asleep in Christ.” When you are dead, you’re dead. It’s a final condition. However, sleep is just a temporary situation. Death and sleep look a lot alike. The difference is, when you are asleep, you expect to wake up.
Those who are asleep in Christ eagerly await the return of Christ to wake and spend eternity in heaven with Him.
You have hope today because even though you may die physically, it’s just a temporary experience. You will wake up in the presence of Christ to spend eternity with Him.
Made Alive
You don’t have to fear death because Christ has given you life. You have been made alive in Him and will one day be raised for all eternity. Death is just a temporary experience for you.
One last thought. You don’t have to wait until you die to experience the new life in Christ. The abundant, eternal life began when you gave your heart to Christ.
Look at that verse again.
For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. – 1 Corinthians 15:22
Make this confession with me.
- Just as Adam brought sin and death, Jesus brings righteousness and life.
- I will not die; I will simply rest in Christ.
- Just as God raised Christ from the dead, He raised me with Him.
- In Jesus Christ, I have life.
In Jesus Name,
Amen
As a Christian, you live alive in Christ. Your spirit has been made alive in Him. Remember, Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.”
