Today’s Promise
I Am Full of Hope
Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
Hope
Hope is a powerful emotion. When you lose hope, you lose everything, but when hope abounds, amazing things happen.
This promise is a prayer for me and you. Hope begins with God and only comes from God. Before you came to Christ, you had no hope. Death was to be feared, the future was uncertain, and you lived life by your own ingenuity.
When you came to Christ, Jesus filled you with hope. Now you have hope for the future, hope in eternity, and hope in God’s help for day to day living.
We use the word “hope” a lot. Children hope they have ice cream tonight, and a person buying a lotto ticket hopes to win it big.
Real Hope
Biblical Hope is not just emotional well-wishing. Biblical hope is the confidence that God will fulfill what He has promised.
God gives you hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. As a Christian, you overflow in hope because the Spirit dwells within you.
Joy And Peace
Joy and peace are the results of the hope you have in Christ.
Joy is the inner gladness that is not connected to your situation. You can be full of joy even though you may be going through a difficult time. God fills your heart with gladness as you place your hope in Him.
Peace is the inner contentment of your heart. As a Christian, you understand that God is working things together for your good. You can be at peace because you know God is on your side.
This promise is for hope, joy, and peace to abound in your life. You have all hope, all joy, and all peace.
You are filled with hope today because your eternity is secure. You have a relationship with the creator God, the Holy Spirit in you, and God’s power is on you.
Let’s look at that promise again.
