Today’s Promise
I Can Depend on God’s Love
Isaiah 54:10
“For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, But My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, And My covenant of peace will not be shaken,” Says the LORD who has compassion on you.
One Thing You Can Depend On
There is only one thing you can count on in this world, and it’s not death and taxes. When the whole world is shaken, and everything seems to be falling apart, there is one thing you can count on; God’s love.
God’s love is at the very center of the Gospel. His love sent His Son to bring us salvation. His love is poured out on us every day.
The Old Testament often uses the word “lovingkindness” to describe God’s love. Lovingkindness is not a word we use very often. It’s one of those Bible words you hear but may not really know what it means.
Lovingkindness
Lovingkindness is God’s commitment love for you. His lovingkindness is his love for you regardless of your response. Lovingkindness is God’s loyal love. It is his determined love that shows mercy and forgiveness.
The New Testament word for lovingkindness is grace. God’s grace is poured out on you every day. There is nothing you can do to make God love you more and nothing you can do to make God love you less. He has a commitment love for you.
When your world falls apart, or you experience a major failure, it’s easy to feel like no one loves you. We have all had times when friends abandoned us, and we were all alone. When you really mess up and fall into sin, it’s easily to think that God doesn’t really love you either. God’s love for you doesn’t change because of your actions.
God’s Promise of Love
When God makes a promise, He keeps it. He has promised to love you no matter what happens in the world. God’s love is the one thing you can always count on. No matter what the situation, no matter how you feel or what you have done, you can always count on God’s love. God’s love will never change, never fail, and never end.
Look at that promise again.
“For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, but My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, and My covenant of peace will not be shaken,” says the Lord who has compassion on you. – Isaiah 54:10
Make these confessions.
- God has a commitment love for me.
- I can count on His love, no matter what happens in life.
- Even when I am unfaithful, God’s love for me doesn’t change.
- God’s love for me will never change, never fail, and never end.
In Jesus name,
Amen
