Today’s Promise
I Have the Mind of Christ
1 Corinthians 2:16
For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he will instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.
Two Types of People
There are only two types of people in this world, those who live by sight, and those who live by faith.
Those who live by sight only believe what they can see. They are blind to spiritual truth. We have all seen that television personality who tries to have a conversation about the Bible or spiritual truth, and you know they have no idea what they are talking about.
The unbeliever stumbles through life, blind to the real world that is around them.
The other type of person is one who has placed their faith in Christ and lives life by faith. The Spirit speaks to them and teaches them from God’s Word. As believers, their spiritual eyes have been opened, and they live with new understanding.
As a believer, you live at a higher level than the world around you. When you gave your life to Christ, the Holy Spirit took up dwelling in you. You have the mind of Christ. His presence in you allows you to understand the things of the Spirit.
The Mind of Christ in You
You see the world from a completely different perspective. By faith, your prayers open the gates of heaven and release the blessings of the Lord. You think differently because you have the mind of Christ. It doesn’t mean you are perfect. There are times when you miss God or respond in rebellion. What it does mean is that Christ has opened your eyes to the spiritual realm.
So many Christians live life by sight instead of by faith. They have allowed Christ to save them, but they still live by what they see. They never step out in faith and allow God to direct and bless them.
God’s promise is that the mind of Christ that dwells in you will give you new insight on how to live the life of faith.
Look at that promise again.
For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he will instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ. – 1 Corinthians 2:16
Make these confessions.
- I have the mind of Christ in me.
- The Holy Spirit allows me to see the spiritual world around me.
- I live by faith and not by sight.
- The mind of Christ allows me to live life from God’s perspective.
