Today’s Promise

I Number My Days

So teach us to number our days, That we may present to You a heart of wisdom.
Psalm 90:12

Number Your Days

If we aren’t careful, life has a tendency to slip away. We’ve all picked up our phone just to look up something, and before we knew it, hours have passed doing nothing but staring at your phone.

Our days and years can slip by just as quickly. Last year’s goals become this year’s goals and this year’s goals become next year’s goals. Pretty soon, years slip by with nothing to show.

The older I get, the more I realize how quickly the years are slipping by.

God commands us to number our days. Remember, every command is a reminder that God has already given us the ability to do it.

Here are a few thoughts on numbering your days.

Numbering your days reminds you that you have a limited number of days. Our time here on earth is short. I once heard the story of a man who would remove one marble each day from a jar of marbles, just to remind him his days were getting fewer and fewer.

Are you using each day to build the kingdom of God, or are you spending it watching one of the dozen screens you have available? Did you spend it strengthening your relationships and serving the Lord or wasting it on unimportant things?

Number your days also teaches you to treasure your days. Numbering your days is making the most of the time God has given you. When you number your days, you become aware of just how quickly life can pass by.

Numbering your days reminds you to live with intention. The great philosopher Dolly Parton said, “Don’t get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life.” Numbering your days is living with purpose and intent, not just drifting along.

Numbering your days reminds you to live every day for the glory of God. No matter how many days God gives you, you must use each to bring glory and honor to Him.

Every moment is precious. Every day and year is a gift from the Lord. Count every day, and use it for God’s glory.

Look at that promise again.

So teach us to number our days, That we may present to You a heart of wisdom. – Psalm 90:12

Make these confessions.

  • I number my days, knowing life can easily slip by.
  • I treasure every day God gives me.
  • I live life with intention, following God’s guidance.
  • I use every day for God’s glory.

In Jesus’ Name
Amen

When we number our days, we take advantage of every day and every moment. We use every day to the glory of God.

Today is the last day you can make a gift to the ministry, and it still count in 2021. God has blessed us so much this year. This was only possible through the support and prayers of friends like you.

I absolutely love the idea of marbles or stones in a jar.
Take one out every morning… maybe I would meditate and pray more on what I and the Holy Spirit would create with that time.

Though I intend to glorify God, I have not been very successful though. I pray to the Lord He uses me appropriately in His Kingdom and helps me grow in His word. Thank You.Thank You.Thank You.
