I Will Not Fear

Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10

No Fear

God commands us not to fear. How can we walk in fear when the God of the universe is by our side?

What are you afraid of? I’m not talking about the fear of bugs, snakes, or things that go bump in the dark. I’m talking about the fear that keeps you awake at night and greets you when the morning comes. That debilitating fear. The fear that keeps you frozen in your tracks. The fear that keeps you from enjoying all God has for you. Psychologists tell us we are born with only two fears: the fear of falling and loud noises. Every other fear is a learned fear. Unfortunately, we seem to be pretty good learners.

So often, our fears hold us back. They limit our thinking and weaken our faith.

Five Reasons Not to Fear

In this promise, God commands us not to be afraid. Fear is confessing that God is not in control. It is confessing that God is not watching over you. This command/promise gives five reasons why you shouldn’t live in fear.

First, you don’t have to be afraid because God is with you. How can you walk in fear, knowing that the God of the universe is with you?

Second, He is your God. The creator God is your God. You know Him, and He knows you. You are in a relationship with the living God.

Third, He is strengthening you. God’s power is flowing through you today. How can you ever be afraid of failing when God is your strength?

Fourth, He is helping you. It seems like an unfair advantage, but as a child of God, He is helping you in every area of life.

Finally, He is upholding you. Picture a father holding His little daughter’s hand. The little girl’s fear is swept away as her father takes her hand. God’s righteous right hand is upholding you in the same way.

What are you afraid of today? When you are afraid, remember God is with you. He’s strengthening and helping you. He is holding your hand to keep you safe.

Look at the promise again.

Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand. – Isaiah 41:10

Make these confessions.

  • I will not fear because God is with me.
  • I will not fear because the creator God is my God.
  • I will not live in fear because God is strengthening me
  • I will not live in fear because God is helping me.
  • I will not live in fear because God holds my hand and keeps me safe.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

You can’t live in fear and live in faith. To overcome your fear, trust in the God who has promised to strengthen, help, and hold you.

It’s 3:10 am. I have been awake with fear. As I scrolled
news I had a notification for a new email. I checked and it was this. How amazing God works. I read it twice. Now I’ll lay my phone down and reflect that God is here in the darkness. He sees the tears. He is right here. I am not alone. I have nothing to fear.

What comforting words from our Father. He promised and we can rest in the truth that He is faithful. He’s got you Sis-in-love ❤️.

I don’t think I live in a lot of fear. That I’m aware of, anyway.

But this scripture is like a prayer when I trust it.

It has helped me so many times in the past.

Another thing that I’ve been doing lately is saying, “I trust You Jesus” out loud. Just verbalizing it reminds me who is my Advocate.

I’ve been through much. Myself and others have trusted Jesus with our son’s rebellion. We almost lost him twice with drug overdose.

And I’m seeing what seemed “impossible “ in my 31 year marriage!

He is faithful. He loves mercy. Amazing, just amazing!
