Jesus Gives Abundant Joy

You reveal the path of life to me; in Your presence is abundant joy; in Your right hand are eternal pleasures.
Psalm 16:11

Abundant Joy in God’s Presence

A life lived in the presence of the Lord is a life filled with joy.

Joy comes from the presence of God. The closer you are to His presence, the greater your joy. A life lived in the presence of the Lord is a life filled with joy.

Jesus Was Joyful

I believe Jesus was a joyful person. So many movies portray Jesus as a solemn, serious person who moved through crowds with his hands raised, blessing people. I don’t believe He went around with a pious frown on His face. To hang with Jesus had to be fun. The Pharisees considered Him a glutton and a drunk. Jesus was a joy-filled person.

Joy should be the natural expression of the Christian life. Circumstances and situations don’t control your joy. Joy is the inner peace that God is in control and is working for your good.

Abundant Joy

I love that the Psalmist didn’t stop with “joy.” He had to add “abundant joy.” Abundant joy is overflowing joy. Abundant joy is the joy that is more than enough. Abundant joy is overflowing and never-ending joy.

Joy goes beyond your situation. Joy overflows in your life even when things aren’t going as you wish. Joy isn’t dependent on your happiness; it’s based on your relationship with Christ.

When you enter into God’s presence, you realize nothing else matters. You can rejoice because the King of Glory is your Father and works for your good.

Your Source of Joy

Christ in you is a constant source of God’s presence. Today, you have overflowing joy because God’s presence lives in you.

You can be joyful today because God is in control.

You can be joyful today because you are on the path to eternal life.

You can be joyful today because Christ in you is your source of joy.

If you aren’t feeling joyful, maybe you have slipped away from God’s presence. It may be time to draw close to Him and once again experience the joy of His presence.

Look at that promise once again.

You reveal the path of life to me; in Your presence is abundant joy; in Your right hand are eternal pleasures. – Psalm 16:11

Make these confessions.

  • In God’s presence, there is abundant joy.
  • Joy is the evidence of my walking in God’s presence.
  • Today, I am on the path to eternal life – overflowing with joy.
  • Christ in me is my source of joy.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

When you walk in the presence of God, joy overflows in your life.

When I commit my plans for the day to God and ask him to Bless them if this is His will I get this feeling of beautiful peace and joyfulness. It’s a feeling knowing you are on the right path and protected.

Jesus is joyful and wants us to have His joy made full in ourselves. Thank You Lord for that Joy.

When I was in 7th grade, I was at a low point in my life. Nothing was going right. Hated school, broken bike, no friends, old hand me down clothes, dirty and looked down on by my classmates.. But I knew the Lord. Looking out the window of the classroom on a Friday afternoon, I didn’t see any purpose to go on, to even go home. Bubbling up from inside me was a burst of joy. No explanation to it. Never happened before. Just a bubbling over of joy from the inside and I knew if was then Lord encouraging me to go on and it was going to be okay.. I could hardly sit still. Praise God that he came to lead me on. It would be years before it really got better but I knew God was with me, looking over my shoulder.
    Thanks for this promise today.
