Today’s Promise

Jesus is Coming Back Soon
Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 4:17
Jesus is Coming Back
As Christians, we look forward to the return of Christ. The return of Christ has been the greatest source of hope for Christians for almost two thousand years. Ever since Jesus ascended into heaven, we as Christians, have been looking forward to His return.
The Bible is filled with prophecies (promises) related to His return. As each prophecy is fulfilled, we draw closer and closer to the time of His return.
When He returns, we will meet Him in the air. Those who have died in Christ will be resurrected first, and then those who are alive at the time, you will be “caught up” to meet Him in the air.
Caught Up
The word “caught up” in this promise refers to someone rescued from danger or snatched away by surprise. When Jesus returns, it will happen suddenly and will be a surprise to everyone.
As a Christian, you look forward to the day when you see Jesus in the air, face to face. When He returns, He will set up His eternal kingdom, and you will live in His presence for all eternity. You will join all those who are in Christ to enjoy all that God has prepared.
Knowing that He may return at any moment gives you hope to face the problems of today and live in victory over every trial you may encounter. Understanding the trumpet may sound at any moment, and you will be in His presence, keeps your heart on eternity. Everything else is passing away.
As a Christian, there are few things more exciting than living with the anticipation of Christ’s return.
Look at the promise again.
Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. – 1 Thessalonians 4:17
Make these confessions.
- When Christ returns, I will meet Him in the air.
- Jesus will set up His eternal kingdom here on earth.
- I will spend all eternity with Him on a new earth.
- I look forward to the day when He returns for me.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
You can live with hope today, knowing that one day you will meet the Lord Jesus in the air to spend eternity with Him.
The most important thing you can do for your pastor is to pray for him. Most churches are still in some level of transition. Your pastor needs an extra level of anointing, wisdom, and strength. You can learn to pray for him daily by signing up for Praying for Pastors. When you sign up for free, I’ll email you a scripture, topic, and prayer you can pray for him. Go to prayingforpastors.com for more information.
