Today’s Promise

Jesus is the Only Way

Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”
John 14:5-6

Jesus is the Way

Contrary to popular thought, there is only one way to God, and that is through faith in Jesus Christ.

Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” – John 14:5-6

Christianity is different than all other religions. In most religions, there is a teacher or leader who points the way to God. If you remove that person, the basics of the religion remain unchanged.

All About Jesus

When it comes to Christianity, everything centers around Jesus. Jesus was not a good teacher pointing the way; He was the way. Jesus was a teacher and taught the multitudes about the kingdom of God; however, He was much more. If you take Jesus out of Christianity, there is nothing left. Without Christ, Christianity doesn’t make sense.

In the verses just before this promise, Jesus told the disciples how wonderful heaven would be. He said He would go and prepare a place especially for each of His followers. He said He would come back again to take them to be with Him. As usual, they didn’t understand.

One of the disciples said, “How do we know the way?” Jesus said, “I am the way.” He didn’t say I know the way, or I can show you the way. Jesus said, “I am the way.”

Jesus, the Only Way

He then took it to the next level by saying, He was the only way. Jesus discounted all other religions. They may be good people, doing good things, but salvation comes only through Jesus.

As His follower, He is your way. As you put your faith in Him, all the other promises of the Bible come true. He is the way to all you need.

No matter what you are going through, Jesus is the way.

  • If you need comfort, Jesus is the way.
  • If you need strength, Jesus is the way.
  • Jesus is the way through your difficulty.
  • Jesus is the way to salvation and eternity with God.

Whatever your need is today, Jesus is the way. Allow your faith to increase and hold close to Jesus, the only way.

Look at that promise again.

Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” – John 14:5-6

Make these confessions.

  • Jesus is the way, truth, and life.
  • Jesus is not a way to God, but the only way to God.
  • Jesus is the way to everything I need now and forever.
  • As I put my faith in Christ, I know He will be my way.

In Jesus name,
Amen

There is a growing pressure to view all religions as the same. Some would say to claim Jesus is the only way to God is insensitive and prejudicial. However, Jesus is not a way to God. He is the only way to God. Good intentions, religion, and dedication won’t cut it. The only way to God is through faith in Christ.

Yes, I truly believe Jesus is the only way to God. Only in Lord Jesus, we have the privilege of being called His child. and we have the hope of salvation. Amen.
