Today’s Promise

September 7, 2022

Keep Knocking and the Door will Open

So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened.
Luke 11:9-10

Keep Praying

Do you give up too soon in prayer? If so, today’s promise is for you.

This promise is one of those Bible verses we all know but rarely practice. It’s a great promise to frame and put on the wall, but a better promise to live daily.

Prayer is not a one-time act. It’s not just saying a prayer and then moving on with life. Jesus said to ask, and then keep on asking; to seek and keep on seeking; to knock and keep on knocking.

Keep Asking, Seeking, and Knocking

When you keep asking, seeking and knocking, you have the promise that God will hear and answer your prayer.

If you have prayed about an issue and don’t have an answer, then keep praying. A pastor friend said that we should push when we pray. “PUSH – Pray, Until, Something, Happens.”

We give up too soon in prayer. We bring our request to the Lord once and expect the heavens to open and angels to descend with our answer. Jesus promises to reward those who will not give up in prayer. Keep on knocking until the door opens.

God is Not Reluctant

God is not reluctant or waiting for you to convince Him to answer your prayer. As a loving Father, He wants to bring good things into your life and meet your every need.

Sometimes spiritual warfare must occur, and God’s timing must be fulfilled. Daniel waited 21 days for an answer to his prayer. A heavenly battle had to be fought and won for the answer to come.

No matter what you are praying about today, keep on asking, seeking, and knocking. God’s answer is on the way.

Look at that promise again.

So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened. – Luke 11:9-10

Make these confessions.

  • I know God is answering my prayer.
  • When I ask, seek, and knock, I receive, find, and the door opens.
  • I will not give up in prayer but will continue to ask, seek, and knock.
  • I will pray until something happens.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

Don’t give up in prayer. Keep seeking, asking, and knocking. God’s answer is just around the corner.

I’m praying for healing, deeper healing for my daughters.. in the their minds, for their mental health. For my oldest daughter to be healed to be the best mom she can be. Stability, peace.
I’m praying a covering over my 5 year old granddaughter, that she would be nurtured, and well loved. That our relationships would be healed.
