Today’s Promise

November 7, 2022

My Leaf Will Never Wither

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers.
Psalm 1:2-3

One Powerful Promise

It’s amazing how God can pack so much truth into one verse. Today’s promise is just one of five promises found in this one simple verse.

God’s Word is a powerful force in your life. When you focus on His Word, God promises to make your life stable, fruitful, and resilient. He says the person who builds his life on the Word of God will be like a tree whose leaf does not wither.

Leaf Not Wither

What does it mean that your leaf does not wither? Trees fall into two categories: they either shed their leaves in the winter or are evergreen. The evergreen is not affected by the winter, the cold, or the storm. When all the other trees lose their leaves, the evergreen continues to show it still has life.

It’s easy to get discouraged. From your relationships to your career to even your walk with God, we all face times of discouragement. Sickness, adversity, failures, and problems hit us all at one time or another. However, the Christian who is grounded in the Word of God will stand and flourish even through difficult times. When those around you are in despair, you will stand firm and even flourish.

Still Remain Strong

As you hold on to the faithful promises of God, you can weather the coldest winter and darkest night and still remain strong.

The leaf represents your testimony to the world. Leaves are evidence of life. If you see a tree without leaves, you assume the tree is dead. Even in the harshest of times, you can be an evergreen who stands as a witness to God’s goodness. Because you are rooted in the Word of God, you will remain steady and healthy, bringing glory to God.

Look at that promise again.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers. – Psalm 1:2-3

Make these confessions.

  • I will focus and delight in God’s Word.
  • In the darkest of winter, I will still flourish.
  • When everyone else is fainting, I will be strong.
  • In Jesus Christ, I will not fade but will bring glory to God in all I do.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

God’s trees are evergreen; they always bring glory to God, even in difficult times.

Please pray for my husband, Jim. He has been sick since August 2, 2022. He was struck by Covid pneumonia and aorta valve in serious condition. The Lord Jesus Christ cast out all the disease. However he is now in a rehab hospital. He was walking before this but now his body is weak. Pray our Lord Jesus will strengthen and heal him so he is can get out of the wheelchair and come home. I believe Jesus is the Divine Healer spiritually, mentally and physically. I pray he will just touch him this day and lift him up with no pain, no fear. We love our Lord and Savior and pray for clarity as to what he wants us to do to follow him. We put all of our trust and faith in Jesus Christ. We love you and believe you have healed him and will bring him home. Amen
