Saturday Review

Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise. Every Saturday, we review the promises we learned during the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts.

Monday – You Are My Child, Not My Slave

We began the week with the promise that God calls us His children. We aren’t slaves who cower before their master, but children who see God as our Father.

Here’s the promise.

For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father!” – Romans 8:15

Make these confessions.
  • In Jesus Christ, I am a child of God.
  • I am adopted into the Family of God.
  • I don’t live in fear because God is my Father.
  • I have received a spirit of adoption.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

There are two ways to live the Christian life, as a slave or as a child. I hope you will claim this promise today and live as a child of God.

Tuesday – I Am Your Lamp and Light

On Tuesday, we saw how God is our lamb and our light. He brings light into our darkest days. His light brings clarity, removes fear, and keeps us on the path to righteousness.

Here’s the promise

For you are my lamp, O Lord, and my God lightens my darkness. – 2 Samuel 22:29

Make these confessions.
  • God is my lamp.
  • He is bringing clarity, protection, and guidance to me.
  • As I walk in His light, my fear is removed.
  • His light keeps me from stumbling.
  • God turns my darkness into light.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

Your God is the lamp that turns your darkness into the light.

Wednesday – I Have Chosen You

Midway through the week, we celebrated the love of God by claimed the promise that God chose us for Himself. His incredible love goes beyond our comprehension.

Here’s the promise.

You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain. – John 15:16

Make these confessions.
  • Before I even knew Him, God chose me.
  • I had nothing to offer Him.
  • It was His incredible love that reached out to me.
  • I am His child today because of His incredible love.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

God loved you so much that He chose you to be His own. If you can grasp just a little of this promise, it will transform your Christian life.

Thursday – You Are Always on My Mind

On Thursday, we were reminded that God is always thinking of us. Like a loving father, we are always on His heart. His thoughts of us are innumerable.

Here’s the promise.

How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with You. – Psalm 139:17-18

Make these confessions.
  • Right now, God is thinking about me.
  • I am on His heart and mind.
  • He thinks of me so often that I could never count His thoughts of me.
  • As my loving Father, I am always on His mind.
  • Even in the middle of the night, God is thinking of me.

In Jesus’ Name.
Amen

Be encouraged today. The Great I AM is thinking about you today. You are in His thoughts. Rest easy; God is watching over you.

Friday – The Resurrection Promise

We ended the week with the greatest promise of all. The resurrection of Christ set Christianity apart from all other religions. You can go to the grave of any other religious leader, but when you go to the tomb of Jesus, you find it empty. He is not there; He is risen!

Here’s the promise.

Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day. – Luke 24:45-46

Make these confessions.
  • After three days in the grave, Jesus rose from the dead.
  • Because Jesus overcame death, I do not fear the grave.
  • Because Jesus rose from the dead, He offers eternal life to me.
  • Father, thank you for the resurrection of Christ.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Because Jesus rose from the grave, the power of death has been destroyed. We don’t fear death because we know the giver of life.

That’s it for this week. I hope these promises have been a blessing to you. Go back through these promises and allow God to renew your mind with these truths from His Word. Share one of these promises with a friend or family member. Everyone can use an encouraging word from God’s Word.
