Saturday Review
Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise. Every Saturday, we review the promises we learned during the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts.
Monday – You are a Citizen of Heaven
We began the week by seeing how our citizenship is not in this world but in heaven. This life is a passing moment compared to eternity. We don’t fear death because we know we will be with the Lord.
Here’s the promise.
Our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. – Philippians 3:20
Make these confessions.
- I am a citizen of heaven.
- When I die, I will spend eternity in heaven.
- I am no longer at home in this world.
- I live with my eyes on heaven, knowing this world is not my home.
In Jesus’ name
Amen
There is no fear of death when you know your citizenship in heaven has been sealed by the blood of Christ.
Tuesday – God Will Fulfill His Promises
On Tuesday, we celebrated the fact that God’s Word never fails. What God has promised, He will fulfill. Our God is the promise-keeping God. Every one of His promises are good.
Here’s the promise.
Not one of the good promises which the Lord had made to the house of Israel failed; all came to pass. – Joshua 21:45
Make these confessions.
- My God fulfills every promise.
- By faith, I am holding onto every promise God has made.
- All of God’s promises are good.
- God will never fail to fulfill even the smallest promise made to me.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
The God you serve is a promise-keeping God. What He has promised, He will do. Not one of His good promises will He fail to fulfill.
Wednesday – God’s Mercy Saves You
Midway through the week, we claimed the promise that God pours out His mercy on us. Mercy is not getting what you deserve. Because of God’s mercy, He loves us even though we don’t deserve it.
Here’s the promise.
He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. – Titus 3:5
Make these confessions.
- I can never be good enough for God.
- God pours His mercy on me.
- Because of God’s mercy, I am loved.
- Through faith, I have been reborn in Christ.
- Jesus is renewing my heart and mind to be like Him.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
We can never be good enough for God. Thankfully, because of His mercy, He loves us. God has made us new in Christ. The Holy Spirit is renewing our hearts and minds to be like Jesus.
Thursday – Store Up Heavenly Treasures
On Thursday, we learned that we can invest our time, talent, and money in this world or in eternity. When we invest in the Kingdom of God, it brings eternal reward.
Here’s the promise.
Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. – Matthew 6:19-20
Make these confessions.
- I invest my time, talent, and finances in the Kingdom of God.
- God promises to reward my kingdom investment.
- Earthly treasure will fade, but my heavenly treasures will last forever.
- God uses my kingdom investments to minister and to bring others to Christ.
- I am storing up heavenly treasure for all eternity.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
When you store your treasure in the Kingdom of God, you know it will pay dividends throughout all eternity. Your investments in the Kingdom of God will always return a blessing and count toward your eternal reward.
Friday – Jesus Keeps You from Falling
We ended the week with the promise that God is working in our lives to keep us from falling. Jesus is working in our lives to present us pure and blameless to God the Father.
Here’s the promise.
To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy. – Jude 24
Make these confessions.
- Jesus is working to bring about his plan for my life.
- Jesus keeps my salvation.
- What I did not earn, I cannot lose.
- Jesus’ blood has made me blameless before God.
- Jesus rejoices in presenting me to God our Father.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
Jesus is working in our lives to keep us secure in our faith. He will joyfully present us to the Father as His holy brothers and sisters.
That’s it for this week. I hope these promises have been a blessing to you. Go back through these promises and allow God to renew your mind with these truths from His Word. Share one of these promises with a friend or family member. Everyone can use an encouraging word from God’s Word.
