This Week’s Promises

Matthew 10:42 Psalm 31:19 | Isaiah 9:6 | John 1:14 | Luke 1:38

Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise. Every Saturday, we review the promises we learned during the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts.

Monday – Blessings Come to Those who Bless Others

We began the week by seeing how God rewards those who give of their time, talent, and finances. You can never outgive God. What we give comes back to us pressed down and overflowing.

Here’s the promise.

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” – Luke 6:38

Make these confessions.

  • As a Christ-follower, God calls me to be generous.
  • God calls me to be a conduit of His blessings.
  • When I give, blessings come back to me.
  • As God blesses me, I will bless others.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen

When we refuse to give and keep everything for ourselves, we miss out on the wonderful blessing of God giving back to us. Thriving Christians are Generous Christians.

Tuesday – God Stores up Goodness and Blessings for You

On Tuesday, we claimed the promise that God has goodness stored up for us. He has the solution to our problems, even before they occur. As we trust Him, He releases goodness into our lives.

Here’s the promise.

Oh, how abundant is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you and worked for those who take refuge in you, in the sight of the children of mankind! – Psalm 31:19

Make these confessions.

  • God stores up mercy and blessings for me.
  • I fear and trust in the Lord.
  • God’s goodness toward me is everlasting.
  • God has the answer before I need it.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

No matter what you may face, God goodness and mercy are already waiting in heaven. When you trust in Him, He releases goodness and mercy in your life.

Wednesday – God’s Promise of Christmas

Midway through the week, we began looking at the promises of Christmas. The prophet Isaiah told of the coming of Jesus hundreds of years before Jesus was born.

Here’s the promise

For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. – Isaiah 9:6

Make this confession.

  • Jesus’ birth was the fulfillment of God’s perfect plan.
  • Jesus brought salvation and redemption to my life.
  • God is never surprised by my actions or the problems I face.
  • God is working to bring about His plan in my life.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen

The promise of Christmas is that from the beginning of time, God had a plan of salvation and restoration. The baby in a manger fulfilled the promise of freedom and restoration from the devastating power of sin. God’s promise to you is that the same Jesus born in a manger will bring freedom and restoration in your life today.

Thursday – God Came and Lived Among Us

On Thursday, we celebrated God coming in the flesh. God reached down and lived among us, in our skin, in our shoes. Jesus was God and man in one person.

Here’s the promise.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. – John 1:14

Make these confessions.

  • Jesus is the Word of God.
  • Jesus was all God and all man in one body.
  • I don’t have to reach up to God because He reached down to me.
  • Since Jesus walked on this earth, He knows my struggles.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Jesus was the great God-man. He was all God and all man in one person. He came into the world to bring salvation to you and me.

Friday – I Am a Servant of the Lord

We ended the week looking at Mary’s response to the angel telling her she would have a child and that child would be the son of the Most High. Her immediate response of submission is an example to us all.

Here’s the promise.

And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her. – Luke 1:38

Make these confessions.

  • God uses the weak and powerless to accomplish His will.
  • God uses the available over the talented.
  • God, I submit my life to you to use as You will.
  • Father, I am your servant. Be it unto me according to your word.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Too often, we think we’re too old, too young, don’t have enough education, or a thousand other reasons for God not to use us. What would happen if you just said, “Here I am, Lord, use me as You will.”

That’s it for this week. I hope these promises have been a blessing to you. Go back through these promises and allow God to renew your mind with these truths from His Word. Share one of these promises with a friend or family member. Everyone can use an encouraging word from God’s Word.
