This Week’s Promises

Isaiah 43:19 | John 10:10 | 1 Corinthians 10:13 | Psalm 37:35 | Psalm 84:11

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. – Luke 2:10-11

Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise. Every Saturday, we review the promises we learned during the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts.

Monday – God Will Never Abandon His Children

We began the week claiming the promise that God never forsakes or abandons His children. As a child of God, He will always be with you as your guide, protector, and provider.

Here’s the promise.

“I have been young, and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his descendants begging bread.” – Psalm 37:25

Make these confessions.

  • Father, thank you for watching over me today.
  • I know you will never forsake me and will always be my supply.
  • When I am full of worry and fear, remind me that You never forsake Your children.
  • As your child, I trust You will always be by my side.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

God is faithful and takes care of His children. I love the promise that He will not withhold one blessing from us.

Tuesday – God is My Sun and Shield

On Tuesday we discovered the promise that God is our sun and shield. There are five promises in this one verse. First, as our sun, God brings clarity and peace. 2. He protects us with His incredible shield. 3. He gives us His grace. 4. We will experience the glory of His presence. Finally, He brings his favor and blessings into our lives.

Here’s the promise.

For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly. – Psalm 84:11

Make these confessions.

  • Father, thank you for being my sun and shield.
  • Thank you for your warmth, light, and direction.
  • Thank you for your protection throughout the day.
  • Thank you for giving me your grace and showing me your glory.
  • Keep me close to you and every blessing you have for me.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

As we walk with the Lord, He gives us clarity and protection. His blessings and grace flow over us every day.

Wednesday – Made New in Christ

Midway through the week, we talked about the new life we have in Christ. Our old life has passed away. Our old desire to please ourselves and rebel against God is gone. The Spirit of Christ has replaced them with His new and resurrected life.

Here’s the promise.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. – 2 Corinthians 5:17

Make these confessions.

  • In Jesus Christ, I am a new person.
  • My past doesn’t matter; my sin is forgiven, and Jesus dwells in me.
  • My old life died when I gave my life to Jesus.
  • I live as a new person, free from my past failures and shame.
  • In Jesus Christ, I am a new creature, empowered with a new life in Christ.

In Jesus’ Name
Amen

Today, walk in the new life Christ has given you. Forget about the past and live in the new life you have in Christ.

Thursday – God Goes Before You and Fights for You

On Thursday, we claimed the promise that God goes before us to fight our battles for us.

Have you ever faced a giant? Maybe not a physical one, but giants come in many forms. Remember, your God goes before you and fights the battle on your behalf.

Here’s the promise.

The Lord your God who goes before you will Himself fight on your behalf, just as He did for you in Egypt before your eyes, and in the wilderness where you saw how the Lord your God carried you, just as a man carries his son. – Deuteronomy 1:30-31 (NASB)

Make these confessions.

  • Today, God is going before me, clearing the way.
  • When I face a giant, God fights the battle for me.
  • When I feel like I can’t go on, Jesus carries me in His loving arms.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

When you face your biggest giant, remember God is going before you to fight the battle on your behalf.

Friday – Joy Comes in the Morning

We ended the week by seeing that no matter how long or dark the night, we have the promise of a new day. Our problems will not last forever. The only thing that lasts forever is the love of God.

Here’s the promise.

For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning. – Psalms 30:5

Makes these confessions.

  • Sorrow lasts for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
  • My darkest night will pass because morning will soon dawn.
  • God is bringing me a new day of joy and favor.
  • By faith, I shout for joy at the new morning God is bringing.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

As we trust in the Lord, we find that sorry never lasts forever. God brings the morning and His joyful favor.

That’s it for this week. I hope these promises have been a blessing to you. Go back through these promises and allow God to renew your mind with these truths from His Word. I hope you will be at church tomorrow. While there, why not tell your friends about The Daily Promise? Everyone can use a positive word from God’s Word.

The promise that we are new creatures in Christ Jesus frees me to put the past behind me and press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
