Saturday Review

Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise. Every Saturday, we review the promises we learned during the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts.

Monday – I Am New in Christ

We began the week talking about the new life we have in Christ. Our old life has passed away. Our old desire to please ourselves and rebel against God is gone. The Spirit of Christ has replaced them with His new and resurrected life.

Here’s the promise.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. – 2 Corinthians 5:17

Make these confessions.
  • In Jesus Christ, I am a new person.
  • My past doesn’t matter, my sin is forgiven, and Jesus dwells in me.
  • My old life died when I gave my life to Jesus.
  • I live as a new person, free from my past failures and shame.
  • In Jesus Christ, I am a new creature, empowered with a new life in Christ.

In Jesus’ Name

Amen

Today, walk in the new life Christ has given you. Forget about the past and live in new life you have in Christ.

Tuesday – God Goes Before Me

On Tuesday, we claimed the promise that God goes before us to fight our battles for us.

Have you ever faced a giant? Maybe not a physical one, but giants come in many forms. Remember, your God goes before you and fights the battle on your behalf.

Here’s the promise.

The Lord your God who goes before you will Himself fight on your behalf, just as He did for you in Egypt before your eyes, and in the wilderness where you saw how the Lord your God carried you, just as a man carries his son. – Deuteronomy 1:30-31 (NASB)

Make these confessions.
  • Today, God is going before me, clearing the way.
  • When I face a giant, God fights the battle for me.
  • When I feel like I can’t go on, Jesus carries me in His loving arms.

I claim this in Jesus Name,
Amen

When you face your biggest giant, remember God is going before you to fight the battle on your behalf.

Wednesday – Joy Comes in the Morning

Midway through the week, we saw that no matter how long or dark the night, we have the promise of a new day. Our problems will not last forever. The only thing that lasts forever is the love of God.

Here’s the promise.

For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning. – Psalms 30:5

Makes these confessions.
  • Sorrow lasts for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
  • My darkest night will pass because morning will soon dawn.
  • God is bringing me a new day of joy and favor.
  • By faith, I shout for joy at the new morning God is bringing.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

As we trust in the Lord, we find that sorry never lasts forever. God brings the morning and His joyful favor.

Thursday – Jesus Calls Me His Friend

On Thursday, we celebrated the promise that Jesus calls us friends. So many Christians approach God with fear, guilt, and shame because they don’t understand who they are in Christ.

Jesus calls you his friend. As His friend, even though He knows all your shortcomings, He still loves and welcomes you.

Here’s the promise.

No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. – John 15:15

Make these confessions:
  • Jesus calls me His friend,
  • I am not a slave but a friend.
  • I am His partner in building the Kingdom of God.
  • As His friend, I know Him, and He knows me.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

Jesus invites you into a life-giving friendship with Him. There is no need to live in fear or shame when Jesus is your friend.

Friday – I Have God’s Perfect Peace

We ended the week with the promise that we can live in supernatural peace as we trust in the Lord. Perfect peace is not about your situation. It is the confidence that God is in control of your situation.

Here’s the promise.

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3

Make these confessions.
  • In Jesus Christ, I have supernatural peace.
  • As I put my trust in Him, He fills me with His perfect peace.
  • God is protecting and keeping His perfect Peace within me.
  • I have the perfect Peace of God no matter what I may face.
  • Jesus is giving me His perfect peace today.

I proclaim this in the name of Jesus.
Amen

As you learn to place your trust and focus on Christ, God promises that peace will become the characteristic of your life.

That’s it for this week. I hope these promises have been a blessing to you. Go back through these promises and allow God to renew your mind with these truths from His Word.
Share one of these promises with a friend or family member. Everyone can use an encouraging word from God’s Word.
