This Week’s Scriptures

2 Thessalonians 3:16 | 2 Timothy 1:7 | Psalm 23:2 | Philippians 4:6 | Galatians 2:20

A Personal Note:

With all that is going on related to the Covid-19 virus, let me assure you, God is still in control and is watching over you. The events of the day have not caught Him off guard, and He still cares of His children. I am committed to bringing you a positive encouragement from God’s Word every day.

Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise.

Every Saturday, we review the promises of the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts and lives.

On Monday, we were reminded that we are made in the image of God.

Here’s the promise.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. – Genesis 1:27

Confess this with me.

  • I am created by God.
  • I was made in His image.
  • I may be marred by sin, but God’s image is in me.
  • I am a reflection of the great, creative God.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

On Tuesday, we saw how God has given us power, love, and a sound mind to rise above any fear.

Here’s the promise.

For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. – 2 Timothy 1:7

Make these confessions.

  • Fear does not control me.
  • God has given me power, love, and self-control.
  • I am not afraid.
  • I will step out in faith and not cower in fear.
  • I will follow God’s direction wherever He leads in faith.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

Midway through the week, we saw how our Good Shepherd leads us to a quiet place.

We can rest in peace amid the storms of life because God is with us.

Here’s the promise.

He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. – Psalm 23:2

Make this confession.

  • My Great Shepherd is watching over me today.
  • He is leading me to a place of rest and provision.
  • I trust Him to care for and protect me.
  • He is providing for my every need today.
  • I can rest in Him, for He cares for me.
  • He is leading me to quiet places amidst the chaos of life.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

On Thursday, we saw that when we pray about everything, we won’t worry about anything.

Anything we worry about, we can bring to the Lord in prayer.

Here’s the promise.

Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. – Philippians 4:6

Make this confession.

  • I will not worry; I will pray.
  • Nothing is too small to pray about.
  • When I become anxious or fretful, I will pray.
  • I will pray about everything and worry about nothing.

In Jesus name,
Amen

We ended the week celebrating the fact that Jesus dwells in us.

When we placed our faith in Him, he took up residence in our life.

Here’s the promise.

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. – Galatians 2:20

Make these confessions today.

  • I have Jesus dwelling in me.
  • Jesus leads me throughout my day.
  • I am a new person in Jesus Christ.
  • Wherever I go today, Jesus goes with me.

In Jesus name
Amen

That’s it for this week. I hope these five promises have been a blessing to you. Because of the Coronavirus, most of us won’t be in church tomorrow. You don’t have to go to the church building to have church. Churches are streaming services online, or you can bring your family together and have your own church.

These are discouraging times, share the daily promise with friends and family. Everyone can use an encouraging promise from God’s Word during these days.
